More From the Weekend

We didn't quite get enough of the Goldmans on Friday night so we decided to come down to visit on Saturday too.  The Drainvilles were going to be in town so we had to visit again.  They're now expecting a baby in December! Exciting! So we had to see them too! You might remember them from such blog posts as the Michigan wedding and the Michigan Lake weekend.

Let's take a look back in time at those weekends/blogposts real quick...
Michigan Wedding (2011): Ack! Where is my hair?? I hope I left those earrings in the hotel. ;-)

Michigan Lake Weekend (2012): I remember seeing this picture thinking "Ew" when looking at my belly but now I would be ecstatic to have that back after baby! HA!  And just imagine, in a few more months, there are FOUR more babies that will come from these couples.  Jeez.  We like to reproduce, I guess.

Sadly, I didn't actually take any picture of adults this weekend but hey, our lives revolve around our kids these days so I guess my pictures reflect that.  (Note to self: Take pictures of the adults too. It is fun to go back and reminisce.)

We grabbed some lunch at Firehouse Subs before we headed down to Westfield.  Look at the hipster fireman on the left wearing his fireman's hat backwards ironically.

Max and Tommy enjoyed their time in the Bounce House! I love the top pic where he looks like he is flying out of control to the right.  It's rare to get anything but action shots in the Bounce House.

They also hurled their bodies down the slide over and over again.  Super fun!

After we all went out to eat, the kiddos had bath time as is tradition at the Goldmans.

I could not get Tommy, Max and Emily to all look at me at the same time.  Oh well.

Then we gave Tommy the choice between sleeping on a queen size air mattress and a crib with a pink sheet. He chose the crib.  He was stoked about the crib for some reason.  He had his dino pillow, Scout and his blankie.  The pink sheet was an added bonus I guess!

After the kids went to bed, we watched The Dark Knight Rises.  We really know how to get crazy!! :-)

The next morning we had a total America's Funniest Home Video moment. I think this picture was taken about a minute before it happened.  Max was hitting a ball off his tee.  We cleared everyone out of the way, even telling Tommy to go back by the table, just in case.  Max hit the ball off the tee and it shanked to the right and hit Andrew almost directly in the crotch.  If it had been like an inch higher, Andrew would have been laying in the grass for awhile.  He said it was pretty painful just getting hit in the leg.  I can't imagine if it had been a bullseye! Yikes!

Thanks again, Goldmans, for the hospitality! We had another awesome time as usual! Thanks for having us!

Our First Polo Match

We were invited to a Polo Match this weekend.  Now there's something I never thought I'd actually do, especially in Indiana. It is put on by the Hickory Hall Polo Club in Whitestown and they play matches quite often apparently.  People show up and can tailgate while watching the match.

They had a break every so often and we stomped divots just like in Pretty Woman! You know the scene...

We definitely got our Pretty Woman on. :-) "One word of advice... Avoid the steaming divot!"

The kids just enjoyed the freedom the massive field provided.  SO MUCH ROOM TO RUN!! CAN'T STOP RUNNING!

We met and petted Domino and Coco, the horses.

 Tommy really enjoyed that part.

AAH! Don't move Domino! They scared him a little but he still loved them!

The horses and riders ran by again and again.  We honestly tried to figure out if there was any kind of defense or game plan involved in this match.  We couldn't actually tell.  But it was definitely exciting!  They would run by and whack a ball and yell at each other to "GO! RUN FAST!"  Not sure if those were the horse's commands or if they were just the best things they could think to yell at the time?

From left to right is Tommy, Max, and Jack in this picture.  They had a ball! They were running and throwing plastic plates like frisbees.  They were sweating!

We had so much fun we ended up staying until almost 9! Those poor delirious kids! They were getting their Devo on with their red plastic bowls, that's for sure.  Because you know... when a problem comes along, you must whip it.  Before the cream sets out too long, you must whip it.

Ok I'll stop.

Whip it... into shape.
Sorry.  I'm done now I promise.

Thanks Goldmans for inviting us to our first polo match. We had so much fun!

32 Weeks: 8 Months Down, 8 Weeks to Go Take 2

Well it's been 32 weeks.  That's a super long time when I sit down and think about it.  I'm already 8 months pregnant.  Wasn't I just drinking at Disney World??? ;-) Ha!

My belly's big.  Uh uh, I'm not ashamed.  Big like a pickle.  I'm still getting paid.  (I'll buy a drink for the first one who can name the song in the comments! GO!)

To compare, we've got 32 weeks last time in Chicago...
Yep, still bigger.

I realized I am using the same info from the last time I was pregnant so I thought I'd find a new source.  How about Pampers?  They all basically say the same thing.
Ups and downs. Your acrobat may be standing on his head now: Most babies settle in the head-down, or vertex, position by this week. Ideally, he'll stay put until you give birth. But remember, your little one has a mind of his own—he might decide to change positions several times before he's born. You might feel him jostling into place as he flips, especially if he does so late in your pregnancy.

As full as it gets. The amount of amniotic fluid in your uterus right now—about two pints—makes it fairly easy for your baby to switch from head up to head down. Over the next eight weeks, the amount of fluid will decrease as the amount of baby increases.

Measuring up. Your baby weighs between 3.5 and 4 pounds and measures about 17 to 18 inches stretched out.

If what MFMS told me ends up being completely accurate, this baby is probably over 4 pounds at this point if I were to guess.  That seems huge considering Tommy was born at 6 lbs 12 oz and I still have 8 weeks to go.  But at half a pound a week, that would make an 8 pound baby.  Sounds good to me!

They told me she was in the head down position at the last appointment so Atta Girl!! Keep up the good work!

I've been experiencing heartburn still.  Blech! Not fun but no biggie.  Something else that isn't fun? The HEAT! This has been an especially cool summer so far so I'm very lucky I haven't had to deal with it very much.  I'm trying to drink as much water as humanly possible to stay hydrated.  I dehydrate so easily it's hard to keep up!

I haven't been doing a very good job of documenting this pregnancy. I skipped the entire month of June! Yikes!  I don't want her to be mad at me someday when I have documented every single second of my pregnancy with Tommy and not my pregnancy with her.  I hope she understands! So I'm going to try to be better about it.  More posts, more often, here they come, watch out!

Since my 30 week post was ALL ABOUT APPLESAUCE (see, little lady, you still get special attention), I will post a 30 week pic in this post.  It's actually 30.5 weeks and it's on a boat so... enjoy... I guess?
Go ahead and laugh at my stupidity.  I screwed up putting on sunscreen and got a MAJAH sunburn. You can partially see it on my arm but my back was toast. Brutal.  I know better than that.  I almost forgot to post this one.  I have to have a picture on a boat this time around too!

Although I will never beat the last pic I took preggo on a boat (22 weeks).
Thanks so much, Bro. :)

Weekend in Syracuse

This weekend we headed up to Syracuse for some fun!
Tommy did not sleep on the way up.  He has completely forgotten how to sleep in the car.  Instead he just sings and talks until we get there.

We checked in for the weekend at the Oakwood Hotel. Our room was upgraded and AWESOME.  In fact, it's the show room on the website, if you look it up.

It was nice to have a separate room for the beds. Tommy enjoyed running around in it pants-less.

He did a LOT of running in our room.  You can't blame him! There was so much space!

We went swimming in a lake for the second week in a row. Tommy LOVED IT.  He's getting really good at maneuvering around in his floaties and ninja turtles intertube.

He's also good at using squirt toys too!

This is the view from the swimming dock to our room.  Our room is on the far left side of the building, second window up.
The swimming dock was super nice.  We even convinced Tommy to jump off a few times!

Gaga and Pop invited us over that night and we ate some yummy burgers on the grill.

The next day was Erin's shower.  They played a "How well do you know each other?" game.  Turns out, they know each other pretty well! I think they ended up getting almost all their questions right. Good work, Future Bride and Groom!

The T-Burg kids posed for a pic during the shower.  Aww!

Tommy had SOOO much fun playing with his cousins.  They took him everywhere and showed him everything.  He followed and played and loved every minute.

He also loved playing with his buddy Addi who are both two and a half.  He hasn't seen her in over a year.
This next picture is from the last time they were together.
They were 18 months old at this point.  A lot less hair between the two of them!
And then the year before that, they hung out at around 6 months!
Awww, sweet babies!

So on Sunday morning, Tommy woke up at 6:30 ready to rock and roll.  We almost had him convinced to go back to sleep when the Lake Mass Church Service began.  The gospel singing and preaching was SUPER LOUD and there was no sleeping for anyone after that point.  It's a really cool thing that they do though, I do have to say.  Everyone drives their boats and they can attend church on the lake. There are people that drive around with big long poles and baskets to collect the offerings. All on boats! Cool!  But let me reiterate that it was extremely loud.  We felt sorry for the late night partiers from the wedding at the hotel the night before.

Tommy posed for a quick pic before we checked out.  He really was king of his castle in this place. :)

After no naps all weekend and not enough sleep during the night, he fell asleep on the way home after about 15 minutes.

Once we got home we had some cake for Dada's b-day.  Look at that chocolate mustache! Very hipster!

It didn't take long for Tommy to destroy the living room before bed.

We had such a good time this weekend seeing everyone at the shower and playing in the water.  Lots of fun was had by all!

Weekend in Enemy Territory II: Anchors Aweigh!

So we tried to take the boat out again for Carson's graduation celebration.

Tommy got a little stir crazy on the way down. Yes, he said, "I don't want to smile" at the end there.

He brought his brand new surf hat from Target to wear on the boat!

He got to be co-captain of the boat with Grandpa.

What a beautiful day it was!

Party yacht selfie!

We spent most of our time swimming and playing in the water.

We also went down the slide.  Yes, Tommy went down this huge slide off the top level... with Dada of course.  He didn't know what he was getting into.  When he went underwater, that was the end of the slide.  He refused to go down it again.  I should have known and taken a picture the first time.  Oh well. I'll always have the look on his face when he came out of the water ingrained in my memory! He was PISSED!

But Brandon, Lilli, Isabel, Desi, Andrew, and Carson went down the slide without any fear.  Am I missing anyone?

Especially Brandon!

Brandon decided to get REALLY brave and tried to jump off the end of the slide.  I will preface this video by saying it never worked out for him.  In fact, this video should be titled "Hey Y'all, Watch Dis!" I can only post this video after finding out he was fine!

He was a little sore but no official injuries.  Yikes.  BRUTAL.

More party yacht selfies! I've learned that if I don't take pics of myself, I won't be in any pictures.  So get used to selfies, folks. :-)

Tommy didn't take a nap that day so he was a bit tired.  Grandma had him totally set up and almost convinced to go to sleep.  Didn't happen though.  Imagine that.

Watch out! Tommy's taking over the captain's chair!
Notice Tommy is without his hat? Yep, he threw it in the water when we were headed back to the dock.  It quickly sunk and was never to be seen again.  Tommy was pretty upset to lose his hat (when he so joyously discarded it into the water).  Oh well, we *might* go back to Target one day to pick out another one. We shall see!

Random story: We pulled up to the dock when we were done for the day.  While we were cleaning up the boat, Lilli did some quick fishing with the fishing pole that someone brought.  It was not 3 minutes and she had caught a fish! What the heck? How awesome! She was so excited!

The Party Yacht was a huge success! We had a wonderful time.  Thanks Bickleys for planning such a fun day. Happy Graduation Carson!
