It's Science!!

Hmmm what to do on a lazy Sunday? How about some Pinterest science experiments??

It wasn't hard to convince Tommy once I said we were making lava! I just put baking powder (didn't have any baking soda) in a pan. Then I put vinegar and food coloring in separate bowls. Then I gave him a medicine dropper and voila! SCIENCE!
We had foaming lava in all sorts of colors.

It was super cool!
It didn't take long before all the baking powder, vinegar, and food coloring was one giant pile of mush.

In all honesty, I thought it would be brown or dark purple, maybe. Must have used too much green.

If I were a super mom, I would have multi-tasked and grabbed some eggs for Easter decorating and just let the party continue... But come on, mush is way more fun!

Base + Acid = 30 Minutes of Toddler Entertainment! Yay Science!

Charlotte is 6 Months Old!

I can't believe we're halfway through her first year! Six months already?

We had her 6 month checkup today. Yay for stats! Here's her obligatory scale shot that the nurse always puts up with.

She's growing so much! She's 27.25 inches which puts her in the 93rd percentile! What the heck? She's so tall! She is 15 pounds 5 oz which puts her in the 40-somethingth percentile for weight. She still has a big old noggin measuring at 16.85 inches which was still around 80th percentile I believe. She's also wearing size 9 months for the most part. Girl is growing!

Doctor's office selfie!

I had an outfit that looked like her coming home from the hospital outfit so I did some more comparison shots. She's gotten so big!!
Look at how much she's changed in such a short time! It's so crazy!

Happy one-half birthday, Charlee Bean!

Tommy and Charlotte Side by Side

I knew I had a similar shot of them so I decided to do a side by side comparison shot. I didn't realize until I just did it how much they don't look like each other. When they were babies they could have been twins. Now they are looking more like themselves.  I love it! Don't get me wrong... They still look a lot alike but I should be able to tell apart their baby pictures in the future now. :-)

Sweet Babe

I laid her down to clean up dinner and I came back to find this.  She's such a sweetie.

What's This All About?

Tommy must have missed his old carseat today, I guess.

Gaga's Movie

We took a road trip to Syracuse last weekend.  We waited to tell Tommy until the beginning of the week.  It was a good thing because he talked about it ALL WEEK.  He knows his days of the week now so every single day we would go through the days and then he would say, "And then Saturday, we go to Syracuse!!"
(Look at that hair!) We hoped he would take a nap on the trip.  He did not.  For the first hour of the trip, he sat and just talked and mumbled to himself.  He didn't have anything to do! I thought he might cave and go to the sleep.  Wrong-o.  So then we gave him his iPad for some fun for him and silence for us.

Charlotte had no problem falling asleep.

 Hey, no peeking!

We had dinner at the Oakwood before the play. Charlotte and Aunt Jenny had some quality time during dinner.

Then it was time for the musical.  We've done this before, just not with kids. We explained to Tommy that it was going to be like a movie and that Gaga made it (because she is the director).  So it became Gaga's movie, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."  The four of us made it through the entire show! We were in and out a lot of course but every time Tommy left for a break, he always wanted to go back in to see Gaga's movie!

He let off some steam at intermission telling some random girl that she looked like his Mama (I took it as a compliment, not sure if she did).  He also walked through a crowd of high schoolers and then turned around to the whole family, pointed at the boys and said, "Watch out for THOSE guys."  He was quite entertaining!

After the show, Tommy pretended to take tickets while playing on Gaga's iPad.  They were both so excited to see each other.  It was so cool.

After the show, we stayed at the Oakwood (we've done this before too!) where they have exceptionally fluffy pillows.  Not even Tommy can handle the fluffiness.

The next day before we left, we checked out the house we are renting for our Summer Vacation on the lake.  CAN'T WAIT!!

We didn't stop on the way home and that was a mistake.  We had peed pants and a massive diaper blowout.  Two hours is TOO LONG to go without stopping after a big breakfast.  Holy Moly.  Straight to the bath with you two.
They loved it.

We had a super fun weekend in the 'Cuse.  Tommy loved Gaga's Movie and we were surprised how well the kids did with everything.

Their first musical was a success!

Some More Random Pictures of the Kiddos

Daddy daughter picture time!
 Eat that nose!

What a smile! From both of them!

 Naked baby!

Tommy loves naked baby time! :)

"Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?"

You have some food on your face, buddy boy.

Tommy actually semi-smiled for one picture.  Amazing!

Some Catching Up to Do

I haven't posted in awhile because I haven't been taking as many pictures lately.  So here's my catchup post from the pictures I have taken.
 Bath time is crazy time!

Our little monkey boy is all clean!

She's a big fan of pacifiers, this one.

She's wearing a shirt from her Great Uncle who lives in Austin and also happens to share a birthday with her.

Dressing her up is so fun!

Look at that silly girl!

Someone found a new chew toy!

Tommy enjoyed calling her a flower child all day when she wore this.

It was warm enough for a family walk recently.  Look at that look on her face.  I will have to keep this picture on hand for when she's a teenager. ;-)

Me and my girl

She LOVES to watch her brother, I tell ya.

She can watch him for hours!

I hope you enjoyed this super random catch-up post! :-)
