Happy 8th Anniversary, Thornburgs!

Today marks our 8th anniversary of wedded bliss! We decided after a LOONNGG weekend for the us and the kids... to take all of us out to eat to celebrate.  Everything was going pretty well at the beginning.
 Family selfie! Tommy's smiling!

Tommy was having a great time!

Tommy took my phone and started taking selfies too.  Nice ketchup cheeks! :)

He also turned on some effects and took 23 pictures of Charlotte which I turned into a gif.  Heehee.

Charlotte loved it! She had some of Tommy's oranges at dinner.  DELISH!

Now you can see this is a very peaceful picture.  I wish the night would have ended this peacefully.  But no, we had to extend the kids as far as they could go because we needed wipes and milk.  We went to Meijer and tried to hurry.  We hurried a little too fast because Andrew accidentally left my purse in the cart in the parking lot and we got home before we realized it.  So we had to race back to Meijer to try and find it.  Don't worry, it only had like 7 debit and credit cards, a couple gift cards, a drivers license, business cards with my work address, health insurance cards, and $20-some in cash in it.  No biggie.
So we went to where we had left the cart.
Didn't find it.
Went inside to where the dudes were bringing in carts and asked if they had found a purse.
Uhhhh, nope.
As a last resort, I went to customer service and asked if they found a purse in a cart.  She turns around and then hands me my purse.  I almost cried.  EVERYTHING was still in it.  Holy good karma, Batman.
Reunited and it feels so good.  So with that little event, we need to pay it forward to someone.  Let me know if you have any ideas.

Also... I'm thinking... fanny packs forever.

So then we went home totally relieved but it was too late.  The kids had been overextended.  Tommy had a massive meltdown. He got so worked up, he threw up in the tub.  Fantastic.  It took some major work but I got him to bed. I came downstairs and Charlotte was with Andrew in the same condition.  We got her to bed with some work too.
PHEW.  Our 8th anniversary is now coming to a close.  It's a LOT different than any other anniversary we've ever had.  But I wouldn't have it any other way.  There's no one else I would rather work through massive meltdowns.... or chase down a missing purse... or celebrate our anniversary at the Indy 500 race every year.
Happy Anniversary to my dear hubby.  You make eight great as my mate.

Happy Memorial Day!

The kids donned their red, white, and blue for Memorial Day.  So why not create a blogpost about it?
Charlotte made many friends looking this cute at Chickfila.

So many faces.  What a lil' card!

 Let me up there, Mama!
Climbing now interrupted by the movie Frozen.

I just love this little outfit.  Summer is here and the cute dresses and jumpers are coming out! :)

Tommy's tribute to Memorial Day was a bandana on the head.  He actually let me take his picture but he had to have half an oreo in his mouth at the same time.  Either way, still a win!

Happy Memorial Day and thank you to all the men and women who serve.

Indy 500 2014

The 2014 Indy 500 took place this weekend.  We went with the same group we always do.
For a quick round up of past years, check these:
2012
2011
2010
I didn't go last year, being pregnant and all, but this year the tradition continued.

Starting with beer pong!
Andrew loves getting his picture taken.  Like father, like son, I guess. Though if Tommy starts flipping off the camera like Dada, Mama's gonna be pissed! :-)

Team Almost Always Pregnant made it out of the first round of beer pong... due to a bye.  But hey, second round, baby!! We discussed the pregnancy thing and between Katie, Claire and me, one of us has been pregnant every year since 2008.  (Katie-09, Morgan-10, Katie-11, Claire-12, Morgan-13, Katie and Claire-14)  So 2015 is going to be a big year for us, folks! WATCH OUT! :)

I have to always grab a pic of the bracket for posterity.

Inquiring minds want to know... What in the world is THIS? It's a leaf picker upper.

Andrew modeled the fanny pack I planned to wear the next day.  Travis is focused on something else.  Matt is taken aback.
So why did fanny packs go out of the style? Seriously, it was the most convenient thing I have ever used to carry all my stuff.  Watch out, kiddos.  I'm about to embarrass you on every family vacation from now until eternity.

 Indy 500 Selfie! USA! USA!

Gotta love that flyover! We screamed at them to BE CAREFUL.  They listened.  :-)
Lady and gentlemen, START YOUR ENGINES!! WOOT WOOT!

Mark Cuban waved the green flag.  You can see him in his red IU football jersey.

 Balloons!!

You can't beat $5 American Sunnies from Old Navy.  USA! USA!! USA!!!

Another tradition is a group shot of the all the girls.  LADIESTH!

Newcomers Laura and Derrick enjoyed a giant turkey leg.

Check out my awesome shirt.  Nothing says freedom like a kitty wearing shades!

Full group shot! We actually got everyone in it, thanks to a stranger!

We had another great time at the race.  This is my 8th Indy 500 with this group.  It's always such a ball!
Cheers to many more years!

Field Day 2014!

The last day of school for Tommy's daycare is always a super fun day. They do all kinds of outdoor activities and have lots of fun. Tommy had 2 fun days in a row because they went on a bear hunt the second to last day of school.
How cute are those little bags Miss Kristin made? They loved it! Crossed a peanut butter river and ate teddy grahams. Lots o' fun!

So the last day of school for the school year was also Miss Kristin's last day. She's going to have her baby soon and stay home with her kids from now on. We are really sad she's leaving but very happy for her.

This is a class photo from their day. They are the caterpillars as you can see on their shirts.

They had a parade and waved their flags.

They played Tug of War... Sort of.

They played on the water tables.

They had popsicles!

They played on the Bounce House. Look it's the old original crew!! Tommy, Owen, Layla and Logan (minus Landon).

Slide time!

Charlotte also had her field day but I didn't get any pictures. But she did get this amazing onesie made by her teacher.

Each baby in her class had a handprint made into an owl on a tree. Adorable!

You can see it a little better here. Soooo cute!

Summer session starts now so there will be less kids and less curriculum but Splash Days will be back! Yay for Summer!!

Milestones!

Soooooo potty training.  How 'bout dem apples, eh? The worst.  We've been working on it for about a year now.  Things are going well with only a few accidents here and there.  The hardest part has been the  number 2's.   He also decided a month ago that he was too big to wear pull-ups at night.  So we had to do a lot of talking to convincing him to get out of bed at night to go.

But he finally started to get out of bed at night!! Hooray!! It scares the crap out of me every time but I'm super proud!

For his efforts, he was rewarded with a giant foam sword.  What every kid wants! :)

Another reward we've been using is ice cream.  Ice cream for a kid with a dairy allergy?  QuĂ©?? Yep.  Not only ice cream but chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream! It's made out of coconut milk.  It's pretty tasty but you have to be able to deal with the coconut flavor.  He LOVES it.  It's kind of crazy that this ice cream has no milk, eggs, or peanuts.  I'm always excited about new delicious treats.  Also how funny is Charlotte throwing in a photobomb?

So wish Tommy luck to get through this final step of potty training.  I know he can do it.  We just have to get over the hump.  Night time potty training is super fun! :)

Charlotte is 8 Months Old!

Charlotte is already 2/3rds of a year old. I don't like how fast it's going! I will be planning a first birthday party soon!

I got this outfit from a garage sale. Crocheted shorts?? Are you kidding me?? She's way more hip than me!

So what's new with Charlotte?

She started eating more solid foods at daycare. So far, she loves peaches and green beans!! She will eat pretty much anything you put in front of her. Waffles, pretzels, blueberries (you should see her face, hilarious!), all kinds of fun things.

She has started to pull herself up on whatever she can reach. She gets so excited. She definitely has FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) so being able to stand up and get a better view of things makes her very happy.

She still chews on everything. She still only has the bottom 2 teeth.

She can clap her hands and wave bye bye. Ridiculously cute! Love this stage... and most all other stages too really.

Her hair is really starting to fill in! Good thing she has her brother to keep it clean with lots of bubbles.

She is thinking about crawling. Hasn't quite mastered it yet. She can go backwards and that's about it. She desperately wants to go forward! Watch out when she starts to crawl! This girl has plans!!

She is babbling a lot. I love hearing her little voice. Such a sweet doll face!

Another garage sale find! A blouse with bell sleeves for a baby? Are you kidding me? Adorable.

Just look at that lip! Stop!

Happy 8 Months, Miss Charlee T!
