First Basketball Game of the Season

The last time Charlotte went to a basketball game, she was this little! #throwbackto2013

Today when we went, the kids were much bigger and much squirmier!
I sent this picture in for the Game Faces montage.  Tommy made the video.  He was one of the last ones.  I didn't get a picture of it. Dang it.

The squirminess was only partially absolved with snacks... and snacks... and more snacks.

Yank that hair, Charlotte! I just love her new shirt.  ADORBS. Does it come in my size? ;-)

What? I didn't do anything wrong. ;-) I was actually concerned she was going to get into her neighbors chicken fingers and fries.  I got lucky that she didn't bat at them and send them flying! Close one.

We left the game a little early because the kids had lost interest and on the way out, we ran into ol' Pete himself!
Charlotte was ready with a high five!

We told Tommy to go stand by Purdue Pete so we could take his picture but he was too busy taking this picture with his iPod.  It's a really nice picture! I'm quite impressed! It's centered, not especially blurry, and fairly good quality for being an iPhone 3GS. Nice work, Tommy Hawk.

Here's the same picture from my mom's iPhone 6.  Big difference in quality!

When he finally got his picture taken, we convinced him to go stand by Pete.  Pete was nice enough to take a selfie!!

This is my view of the situation.  (You can see the difference in quality from the 6 in the last picture and my 5.  I want a new phone, can you tell?;-)  After Pete took the picture, he looked at the picture on Tommy's phone, then looked at me, and shrugged.  I figured he was saying, "I did my best."

Here's the selfie.  Yeesh! Nice try, Pete!! Tommy can take better picture than you! Although, it was a flipped around selfie on a 3GS and he had a giant mascot head over his face.  That's pretty difficult.  I'll give him a pass.

The kids had a great time at the first b-ball game.  Here we go, Boilers!

Side by Side Comparisons

I went back through my pictures to see how much Tommy and Charlotte look alike now.  Everyone said they look exactly alike but I'm starting to see major differences.  They still look a lot alike but they are definitely changing everyday.

I really had to search for pictures of Tommy.  At 13 months, he was covered in eczema, he had just been in hospitalized with RSV, and we were still figuring out his allergies.  It was a rough time for the little guy.  I look back and I have no idea how we made it through all of that.  The two pictures I found below were the best pictures I could find when he face was the clearest. Yeah.  Can you believe it?
So yes, they still look very much alike.  But they are definitely not twins.  :-) I find it hard to believe that Tommy had longer/more hair at this point! I thought he was a baldy much longer! Interesting.

Same nose and mouth though, that's for sure! The eyes are even similar even though Charlotte's eyelashes and brows are much darker.

So yeah, they're definitely related.  Ha!

Max and Reese's Birthday Party

We headed down to Carmel for Max and Reese's birthday party at an Aquatic Center.
Tommy was pumped!! You can't tell from his serious look but he was ready to swim.

They were smart and got the candle blowing and singing out of the way first so we could all go swimming.  This picture cracks me up.  Max is stoked! I love his hat.

Tommy and Dada went swimming so Charlotte hung out in the party room in the chair with Megan.  Too cuties.  Lindsay said, "Say Cheese!"  I'm pretty sure Megan said cheese.  I was mucho impressed.

Tommy looked like he was having a great time on the slide so I decided to bring Charlotte out to the pool.

I love this little skirted suit.  Too cute.

This is a great picture.  I went to take Charlotte's picture and she promptly turned to me and let the bird fly.  Andrew cracked up.  Nolan is photobombing with the best face possible.  Perfection in a picture.

There was a shallow water area the babies enjoyed.  Especially Charlotte!

She was terrifying.  She has no fear whatsoever.  She wanted to dive right in!

But she had a really great time with Dean!

They were best buds for a hot minute.

Tommy also had a really great time.  He is holding all three of his party favors in this picture.  A new pair of shades for the ride home.  Thanks for the great time, Goldmans! Happy Birthday, Kiddos!

Halloween 2014

So during the month of October, I didn't watch tv.  I wanted the make the kids costumes so something had to go.  It was tv.  I almost had Tommy convinced to be a ninja turtle so he could just use Adam's old costume but he changed his mind when he saw Sleeping Beauty.  He wanted to be the fire breathing dragon that Maleficent turns into at the end of the movie.  Grrrrrrreeeeaaaatttt.  So easy.  But I found a great tutorial on how to make dragon wings.  I did a lot of googling to get ideas and lo and behold, I had an extremely happy kiddo when I was finished.

For Charlotte's costume, I decided she needed a hoodie-style costume too.  Why not be a unicorn? I found great tutorials for a unicorn costume. (My kids will never know a day when you couldn't find absolutely whatever you want to find on the internet.  I had to wait quite a few years in my life. :)
She was also a happy camper.
Our first event to try out these costumes was Boo at the Zoo! Tommy was so excited.

Charlotte was also pretty excited.  Tommy wanted his mama to be a princess and dada to be a dog.  He had to settle for dada being dada and me being Minnie. :-) Parent fail.

Charlotte got a lot of Awwwwwws!! Her outfit was quite the hit!

Tommy enjoyed all (3) of the rides!

Charlotte enjoyed watching. She would enjoy riding them I think.  She's afraid of nothing.

Look at that tail! Ridiculous amounts of cuteness.

Tommy took Charlotte for a ride in the car (that doesn't go anywhere).

We visited the pumpkin patch part of Boo at the Zoo.  Yes, that's Tommy's second sucker.

This was actually the best picture they took.  Ha!

That weekend, we went to Svengoolie and Elvira's Halloween Party!!
 Shots shots shots shots-shots-shots!!!

Elvira and Pretty Woman did the robot!

Hockey Hank and Scuba Stella were there for the fun!

 Group pic!

Here's a quick throwback segue way back to the kiddos!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Andrew brought the kiddos to my office so they could trick or treat.  They were lots of fun for everyone to see after being all sugared up at school all day.  Whoosh.

That night we actually went trick or treating.  It.  Was.  Terrible.  Weather-wise, that is.  The freezing rain, possibly snow, the freezing cold temps, and the long walks between each house made for an unpleasant experience.  But we hit up all the neighbors that we could.  Tommy was hilarious.

Charlotte was actually content.  Lots of layers and blankets and she didn't give a care.  Look at how wet her stroller is.  Ugh.  Yuck.

We got home in time to catch a few more trick or treaters.  I tried to get a picture of the kids in their costumes... together...  It did not fly.

I really tried.  But they had had it.  They needed to go to sleep, STAT.

Just no go.  Dang it. :(  But at least they had a really great Halloween.  Plus they were super cute!

I took off her costume and made her sleep in her last layer of clothing for bed.  She and Minnie and their tushes were too cute not to capture at the end of the night.

Happy Halloween everyone!!
