Birthday Party Bus

Andrew asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday.  I decided that I wanted to hang out with my friends.  Since all our friends have little kids and it's always hard for them to get away, it wasn't going to be easy to get them to just come over to our house.  So we decided to rent a party bus!
We had just rented a party bus a couple weeks before this for the Incubus concert.  That was a 10 person bus.  I requested the 23 person bus size for this party.  However, what showed up at our house was a 40-50 person semi of some sort.  It was massive!!
But you would not believe how that really puts you in the mood to party!

Here's a group shot! I'd say we had plenty of room!

This bus had 2 tables like an RV!! So fun!

Our first stop was DT Kirby's but we were having so much fun on the bus, we stayed on for awhile to party.  When we made our way over to the bar, our bus driver was able to take a couple pictures. Look at the size of that party bus!!

He stood on the bottom of a cement sign for this picture.  It seemed super dangerous but he got a great shot at least!

The next stop was Nine Irish Brothers.  We ate some food at this stop which was a great idea.  This was the only picture I got of Nine Irish.  One of my besties from high school!

After Nine Irish, we headed to Harry's.  But not before discovering there was a laser light show on the bus!! WHOO HOO!!
At Harry's, we paid the one dude that was sitting in the fish bowl

At Harry's, the first stop was popcorn!!

Then Andrew and his friends paid the one lonely guy who was sitting the fish bowl and we took it over!

Boy did we take it over! It's like we crave attention or something.

 Nah.
The party bus party was a HUGE success.  Thank you for everyone that came and celebrated with us.  What a GREAT time!

Food Allergy Re-Test Time :(

When out of nowhere, Tommy's lips starting swelling up every time he ate peas, we decided it might be time to have him retested.  We met with the allergist.
Tommy knew going into this appointment that there would be either a needle to draw blood or a bunch of pokes in his back.  He had decided he wanted the needle because it was one poke and then he was done.  He didn't want to deal with tons and tons of pokes in the back from the scratch test.

When the doctor decided the scratch test would be best, he let us all know how he felt about it. :)

Charlotte was with us and she really didn't know what to think.

The nurse was very gentle and it really wasn't bad at all .  Tiny little scratches that hardly hurt at all.

The part we forgot about it that REALLY sucked was the part where the hives grow and become EXTREMELY itchy. :(
He was PISSED.  In this picture on the left side, you can see the seasonal allergies 1-25.

TN stands for all the tree nuts below it.  I think 26 is milk.  The rest on the right side is all the foods in which he is allergic. Still milk, eggs, and nuts.  It showed his reaction to milk being the highest, which we know not to be true because he is consuming some foods with some milk in it.  But if he has anything with eggs, it's bad news bears.  And yes, it said he was allergic to peas a little bit.  Sounds about right.
Tommy was sooooo glad to get out of there.

However Charlotte had a mini meltdown on the way home.  How was she in the worst mood out of all of us?

If you were worried that he continued to be miserable the rest of his night, his welts seem to clear right up.  By the end of the night, it looked like this.
So I guess it was a successful doctor's visit but I didn't feel like we left with any new information that we didn't already know. He told us we didn't need to come back for a few years.  Boo.  But hopefully we'll be doing better when we go back for the next visit.  Wish us luck! :)

Carson's Graduation Party

Carson has graduated from IU.  I can't believe it went so fast! He had another party boat party... on a boat... it was a party. :)
Look at this dude! All grown up and headed off to Berkley!!

We went to the dinner the night before the big party. We asked out waiter if he would take our picture.

He said, "Yes but only if I can be in a one."  Both pictures turned out pretty great. :)

After dinner, we had to visit the Blue Bird!!

The next day was party boat time!

The weather was a little bit chilly but we made the most of it.  There was no rain so it was sign that  party-boating was a must. :)

The kids weren't happy about wearing life jackets but safety first! :)

We had lots of tubes and things to play with.

It was a super fun time, as always!
Congrats, Carson, on this next big step! We are so proud of you!

#incupartybus

We convinced some friends to let a bus driver take us to a concert.  What a great idea!
It was the Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, and Judah and the Lion concert.  It was super fun!

Not only did we come with a group of ten friends but we got the hang out with Adam and Emily too!

Most of the ladies from the party bus and... well Andrew and his fingers. :)

What's the saying, "One is silver and the other's gold." :)

Couple selfie!

What a great time with new friends! #incupartybus

How ya been, Tommy and Charlotte?

What have Tommy and Charlotte been up to this summer? Well let's find out.

Charlotte had a lot of splash days at school.

Tommy had one splash day when the bus wasn't working and the rest of the time, they went to the pool.  He learned to swim!! It was so exciting!

We also discovered a new place to eat because they were going there for school.  We called and found out he can have chicken nuggets and fries.  His favorite!!

Charlotte was not as excited but she certainly does love cheese pizza.

After Arni's, we went to another local favorite, Igloo Frozen Custard.  The kids got slushes.  Yum!

Then they tried to get a drink from the water fountain.

Then they climbed the poles around the outdoor seating area.

Tommy won the Spy Challenge at Summer Camp.  He didn't break any streamers.  Nice!!!

 The kids enjoyed dogpiling Dada.

Charlotte has spent a lot of the summer dressing up.

And also hanging out with friends, Grady and Nolan.

She was excited about that, can't you tell?

They did a lot of building.

Charlotte also dabbled in makeup.

Lots of fun this summer at Summer Camp and at home!
