Thomas Michael, Baptized

On Saturday, we had Tommy baptized.  A big day! We had him baptized at the same church where we did our pre-cana, where Wyatt was baptized, and where Wyatt's Aunt Claire got married.
Here's the man of the hour.

At first, he tried to escape.  :-)  But then he settled in for the ceremony with his parents and Godparents Travis and Traci.

We all got to bless the little man with a cross to the forehead.

During the ceremony, Tommy got a little restless so I fed him a steady diet of cheerios to keep him occupied.  One of the cheerios got loose and fell into the marble basin you can see above.  Travis said, "That is one holy Cheerio."  Luckily it fell into the part that didn't have holy water in it so I was able to pick it up.
During the ceremonies, there is a part where Father Joseph says two prayers of Exorcism.  During this exact moment, Tommy choked on a cheerio and almost threw up.  Both Andrew and I had visions of green pea soup soaking Father Joseph's vestments. Don't worry, Tommy was a good boy and kept it all down. :-)

Also during the ceremony Tommy decided to reach over and shut Father Joseph's book.  Even he got a good chuckle out of it.
Good thing he had bookmarks.  :-)

It was almost time for the dunking!

Tommy was quite afraid of what was going to happen.

Until he realized it was just like a bath.  No big deal!
Then he wanted to get in the water!
He blessed him with oils.  The fragrance stuck with him for days.
 He blessed mom...
 and dad...
 and the Godparents.
Then it was all over.
Traci and Tommy got some quality time after the ceremony.

Then we posed for some pictures.
Tommy posing with Gram and Pop.

Parents and Godparents and Godbrother Wyatt.
Godparents only.  This was the last picture because Tommy was totally donesies with just about everything at this point.
We came back to our house ate food while Tommy napped.  I told Andrew to get a cake that said, "Baptized by Fire" like the Spinnerette song but it wasn't really appropriate for the occasion.

When he finally woke up, he opened his presents.

What a big baptized boy!
