Diane's Rooftop Pool Birthday Party

Kevin is definitely the ultimate thrower of b-day parties.  He planned this party for Diane and it was a quite the success.

First, did you know there was a roof top pool hotel in Indy? I guess so because that's where we were!

Here's one that less hazy from the heatwave that day.

Group pic of all the party people.

 Ladies picture!

Cheers to many more years! :)

We went to dinner after after the pool.  Diane was excited about her birthday dessert. :)

After that, we went to a bar with a live band.  They might have been country but they were super fun! But live music always is.

Another picture of the ladies! :)

And as always, the last two couples standing... the Thornburgs and the Neals. :) We know how to have a good time, that's for sure.

Vacay with the Neals

In what was a vacation that almost didn't happen due to bad weather, we drove down to Sandestin, FL for a quick adults only vacation.
First picture of the trip! Riding in the back of the golf cart to head to the beach.

 Couple selfie on the beach.

 Having a great time!

We call this picture "Riding the Storm Out".  A quick storm blew through and everyone scattered from the beach.  But not us! We held down the fort and then the weather cleared up.  We continued celebrating!

A couple days into the vacay, I got sun poisoning like I always do.  Time for a sun shirt and huge hat!

We vacations during Travis's birthday so on the big day, we went out to celebrate.  Oyster-style!

Guess whose finger that is? Hmmm...

Couple selfie with matching shirts! When you grow old together, you start dressing alike! This is not the first time. :)

We ended Travis's birthday at a Piano Bar.  They played No Diggity for him. Ha!

The last day it was overcast so we took it easy.  Can you spot Andrew?

We went out to dinner that night and went shopping.  Watched some fireworks.  Perfect end to an awesome getaway!

Indy 500 2017

The night before the Indy 500 we went to Jack and Cec's graduation party where the kiddos were gifted some amazing masks and they wore them throughout the party.
They were a hit!

So Adam and Emily and friends went to the race the next day too and sent us this picture as a challenge.

We took this picture as a Challenge Accepted! :)

Chris Pine waved the flag this year.  I do so love the pageantry of the race.  My fave part.

Here's a pic of the boys bro-ing out.

Followed by a picture of the girls sissing out, I guess.  I bought us matching Target sunglasses for the occasion.

Here's a group picture of our seats.

We also went up to Adam and Emily's seats for a bit.  It was soooo much nicer up there.  Nice breeze and shade.

We were almost sitting directly in front of them.  It was sooo hot down there.

Hey! We've done this before! It's been awhile!

That do rag is amazing. Thanks for letting me borrow it, Di.

Time for some end of race group pictures!

Gotta take a couple's picture too!

Hey  we've done this before too! Ha!!

Another successful race in the books! Happy Memorial Day!

Going Out on the Town

After our nice little Saturday with the kids, we invited our niece over to babysit and we went out on the town with friends to see a show.
We started at Harry's because... Harry's.  Andrew tried to take our selfie.
Needless to say, it did not go well.

 So then I tried.  Better!

But then some Phi Mu's offered to take our picture for us.  They were graduates coming back to visit their first year out of school.  That was an interesting conversation!  Boy, that time of our lives was a LONG time ago.

Well not long enough that we have forgotten... :)
So we made our way from Harry's to Elliott.
 The show was super fun!

It was a stage of many colors.

The front man for the band was definitely a showman! He was all over that stage.  He had moves like jagger, if you will.

He wore a red sport coat and gold shiny boots.  I loved him.

At the end, he got dragged across the stage by his feet.  He also sang Last Dance with Mary Jane and dedicated it to us (Indiana town people) which made me really happy.  I love when there's even a little bit a personalization.

A great time was had by all! Nice to get out and do some adult stuff once in awhile. :-)

New Year's Eve 2015

The Neals got a babysitter and so did we so it was time to party.  We weren't sure what to do but I heard about a new bar on campus that was supposed to be a little nicer so we decided to try it out.
It was great... at first.  We had strong drinks and ordered dinner.  It was just fun to be together since our lives have us so busy that it's hard to get together for good conversation.  Well the conversation was so good that we realized too late that it was taking forever for our food to come.  When the food finally did come, it was cold! The server seemed totally frazzled.  Travis said, "Are you freaking out right now?"  She said, "You got me. I'm totally freaking out."  We were like, uh yikes.  That's not good.  Then a LOT of time went by.  We were done with our cold food. Our drinks were gone.  Our server was nowhere to be found.  We waved down another server and asked her, jokingly, if our server had left.  She said, "Um, actually yes.  She got in a fight with the bartender and walked out." Well, that explains a few things.  She took over for us and got our drinks and found out what we ordered.  It was a mess there that night.  We had fun because we always have fun.  But wow, what a disaster!

But we weren't going to let it spoil our NYE Party!! Those "glasses" are supposed to say 2016 but they kind of look like they say 2006.  Which is appropriate because that's the year we both got married! Happy New/Old Year!

Group picture of us still waiting on our food!

Did I mention they had karaoke and girls in total sequined dresses? The sequin dress girls sang a lot of Shania Twain and Dixie Chicks.  Andrew and Travis sang a lot of 80s/90s like Safety Dance, Bad Medicine, and Sledgehammer.  They were big hits!  Once Andrew sang Sledgehammer, everyone was on the floor.  Probably because the median age was 40ish. The youngins' didn't stance a chance.

Katie and I took a picture of us dancing on the highest surface for the Vegas crew.  They were totes jelly!
Even though the bar totally failed us, we still had an awesome time on New Years Eve!! Happy 2016!

Everett Turns One!

Neals planned a super fun party for Everett to turn one.
Who would have thought hanging balloons from trees would be hours of entertainment?

Time for the cake smash!  Everett wasn't sure what to think.

Let's try dipping his head in it! He wasn't too sure about that either.

The kids had fun playing with Harper's princess castle.

Charlotte sat with Grandma Huffman and played with baby Connor.

Later we roasted marshmallows.  We didn't bring any Tommy chocolate but Katie came to the rescue with some Hershey syrup to make Smores.  Yum!

Everett is one! I can't believe our kids are growing up so fast!
