Nice Little Saturday

We haven't done much lately but we have had a great time with our everyday tasks.  We really enjoy running errands on Saturday.  We always have to go to the grocery and take recycling.  We usually try to go out to lunch too.  On this particular Saturday, we went to Firehouse Subs and stopped by Gigi's to see if they have any vegan cupcakes.  They don't offer them in the case unless there was an order that ended up with extras.  We asked if they had any and this week, they had carrot cake!
Tommy was excited to try it so we grabbed it to go along with Charlotte's frosted sprinkled pretzels and our chocolate chip cookie sandwiches with chocolate chip cookie dough filler.  Yeah, they exist and they are amazing.

Tommy really liked his cupcake.  One thing I did not think about was the fact that carrot cake sometimes has nuts in it.  FART.  There were walnuts in it.  He only took one bite of the actual cake and then ate the cream cheese icing (vegan cream cheese icing, whaaaa??? so good!).  But I don't think he is allergic to walnuts. I need to put out his listing of freaking nuts that he is and is not allergic to.  We normally just stay away from all of them but this was a rare situation.  Anyway, he was pleased he got to chow down on yummy icing so it will still a win.  Plus I got to eat the crap out of the cake and it was AWESOME.  Yum.

After the cupcakes, we headed to Target... of course.  Charlotte was a big hit with everyone we passed.  She decided to stay in her jammies and then throw a mermaid princess dress over the top. Fashionista.

 She really rocked the look.

Seriously, these are the best days.  Fun little outings doing whatever, wearing whatever, eating fun foods.  Like sands through the hourglass, am I right? :-)

Weekend in Enemy Territory

Over the weekend, we traveled to Bloomington for my cousin's graduation party.  My cousin Carson and his family not only live in Bloomington but he is going to Indiana University now that he has graduated high school.  Let me just say, it was a rough weekend for us. :-)
We started the weekend off with a little swimming.  What this picture caught in their faces just cracks me up.  I guess they're blowing bubbles above water.

Most of the pictures turned out more like this.  Action shot!

I took this picture the next morning to send to my mom to tell her to hurry up and come down and eat breakfast with us.  She wrote back, "ARE YOU GIVING HIM EGGS???"  I almost wrote back, "Yes, Mom, we gave him eggs drenched in MILK!" In her defense, that is what it looks like.  Actually those are corn pops.  Breakfast of champions!

Then we packed up our suitcase and checked out of the hotel for a fun day in the sun of a graduation party on a party yacht!!!

Waahh waaahhhhhhhh.  It was raining.  :-( We did not get to take the boat out.  Don't worry, we're rescheduling the party for July.  But this picture also cracks me up.  Two-thumb-Sally is dorking it out.  Shiela is blocking Carson's face possibly on purpose. Tommy is terrified and it looks like Isabel must be hurting Dad.  How is the middle finger flashing, stinkface-making Andrew the most normal looking person in the shot? That never happens!

This picture has more people and is a bit more normal looking.  It still doesn't show all the people that were ready for the party yacht!

I don't think Tommy is quite ready though.

Since it was storming, we headed back to Carson's house for food and fun.

Even Tommy had good food.  Aunt Shiela and Uncle Paul bought Tommy a vegan chocolate cake! No eggs, no dairy, ALL DELICIOUS! He housed that piece of cake.

Tommy also had fun. He played with Carson's old train set (Lilli did most of the work).  Wow, was he impressed by the massive amount of tracks, trains, pieces, and accessories galore!!

Tommy didn't get a nap that day.  He still fought taking a nap all the way home that evening. Man, he is good! I'm sure the iPad was a big help keeping him awake.

Even though we didn't get to take the party yacht out, we still had lots of fun! We WILL get to take it out soon! And we will have to visit the Bloomingfoods Bakery for more delicious vegan treats!! Way less likely for us to have a vegan bakery in West Lafayette but we'll keep looking.  Maybe Bloomingfoods will ship!
