Lenses on Our Faces

I cannot get enough of these lenses on my phone.
Seriously, they are ridiculous.

They terrify Charlotte though.  She refused to look at my phone for a long time after this.

 Tommy, however, LOVED them.

 He could not...

 get enough of them!

And neither could I.  Seriously, scariest thing ever.  But so fun! In the top right and bottom left, do I not look just a teeny bit like Missi Pyle?? Ha!

Tommy's Phone

We took my old iPhone 3GS and made it into a phone for Tommy.  It only has games and movies on it.  It's perfect for riding in the car and keeping him busy when we need it.  He loves it!
Well the other day, I heard the noise the phone makes when taking a picture.  I heard it go off over and over again.  So later on, I picked up Tommy's phone to see what he had been up to.  Turns out, Tommy had taken over 400 pictures!!! HA! Our little budding photographer.  Looking through the pictures was like a walk down memory lane.
The pictures from a year and a half ago are ones we took (obviously! he's not well versed in the art of the selfie yet).
Here's Tommy from a year and a half ago.  He still had eczema back then.  It was so long ago and yet not that long ago at all.

Here's Tommy from about a year ago.  Wow.  Again, only a year ago but he's lost a lot of that baby look in the last year.  *tear, sniff sniff*

Now let's get on to the pictures that Tommy has been taking...

I found about 200 pictures of Tommy's shoes.  Jeez.  Like father like son.  He loves his kicks.  Or maybe that's just the direction he's always got his phone pointing.  Either way, he has captured many of his pairs of shoes in the last year/year and a half.

Tommy also had quite a few pictures of his friends.  Here are Scout and Mickey.

I also found a bunch of pictures of people too.  Most of them were blurry and you could hardly tell who they were.  Grandma is on the top left.  Maria and Rex are on the top right (good quality on that one! great work, tom-tom!).  Traci is on the bottom left and Ashley is on the bottom right.  I knew he was taking pictures when Maria and Traci were there but I had no idea about the others.  Wow.

Finally, here's a VIDEO he took that just cracks me up.  He had 11 videos that he somehow took. They were all really random videos except for this one.  This one it was obvious he knew what he was doing.

Ashley, I'm sure you love being reminded of being pregnant but this video was too cute not to share.  I can't believe we didn't realize he was doing this.  Too funny.

I think I might have to keep an eye on Tommy's photo stream from now on to see what other gems he starts coming up with. :-)

Lego Tommy

I found a list of the top 25 apps for kids and found this Lego app

So this is what Tommy would look like if he were made of Legos.  In the words of Miley Cyrus, "That's purdy cool."

I hope you have a big trunk... because I'm puttin' my bike in it.

I finally got my birthday present! Andrew got me a bike for my birthday this year.  But it's not just any bike... it's a vintage Schwinn! FUN!

It was his mom's bike originally.  He took it to the local Schwinn dealer and they were really excited about it.

It's a Traveler III in a really cool "Schwinn blue".  The bike shop wanted to deck it out with blue tires, rims, handlebars, etc.  Luckily they did not.  I think it looks fine as is.

I found out online that I can look up the badge number to find out what year it is.  The badge number is 0789. I believe that means that it's from the 78th day (March 19th) of 1979 making it 31 years old! Wow! It is in excellent shape.  The shop owners said that they had 2 other Schwinn Traveler III frames come through their shop recently and each one was rusty.  They were amazed that this one was completely rust-free. Sweet!

It needed a little fixing up.  When we picked it up at the bike shop today, Andrew saw it and said, "WHOA! It looks completely different!" It has been in storage for a loooonnngggg time.
But... he didn't get a "Before" picture! :(  Dang!

I gotta say that it is really fun to joy ride around on my new Steel Steed.  But X-tra Lite? Not so much.  Maybe for 1979?

I also got a new app for my iPhone called Hipstamatic. (Thanks Aunt Shiela!)  It makes your iPhone photos look retro.  Very fun little app once you figure out how to use it.  I took some experimental pictures...

Whoa! So retro! :)

This looks like a lot of the photos in my family's albums!

My favorite one.  It's hard to line up the lens through the app but I'm working on it.  More fun retro pictures to come, I'm sure!

I can't help but sing Kodachrome when I use this app.  But I always sing it as "I got an iPhone camera, I love to take a phoootograph. So Mama, don't taaaaake my Kooooodachrome awaaaaaay."

Sorry.  I should have given you a Nerd Alert before that one. :)

UPGRADE!

The day has finally come where I can upgrade my phone. It's a very exciting day. Really. You have no idea.

Way back when, after the Purdue/Notre Dame football game, I notice a scratch on the screen of my phone. The scratch quickly became a hemorrhaging mass of gray iPhone death. In October, the iPhone wound looked like this.

Look at how nice and neat the gray electronic bruise is at this point.

A nice little square and you can still see almost everything.

But now the computerized contusion looks a little more like this.

It has really spread. It started growing wider and taller by the day. See the 3 little stripes above the smear? Yep, it was about to grow to 1/3 of my screen!! Thank goodness it was finally time for an upgrade! YAYYY!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the new member of my electronics family, the 3GS!!!

It's so beautiful! I can see all the icons again!!

I also got a new protector case for it (for obvious reasons). It's textured just like it looks. Andrew thinks it's creepy. But I love it.

So very exciting!! Plus I took my first VIDEO!!! I can take videos with my phone!! WHOO HOO!!

Yeah, I know. Poor Brian.
