On Sunday, my mom, my aunt and I all went to see Kathy Griffin at the Murat Theater for a quick Girls Day Out excursion. We did a little shopping at Circle Center Mall. We ate at the Rathskeller. Then we settled in at the Murat Theater for some raunchy entertainment.
Here we are! I'm not kidding you when I say we were surrounded by gays. Kathy Griffin has a huge gay following and she talked about it a lot in her show (she was screaming something to the effect, "WHERE ARE MY INDY GAYS?"). She does a lot of work for LGBT rights and she knows who butters her bread. :) There were about 3 straight guy jokes, though so she's still very equal opportunity.
As you can tell, we had excellent seats.
I'm not kidding you when I say that she spent the first 45 minutes (I timed it) making fun of Elizabeth, Indiana. Kathy spent the prior night doing two shows at the Horseshoe Casino in that town, "Betty", as she called it. It was hilarious. She referenced a lot of Indiana things. Such as "I'm going to need Peyton Manning to escort me out to my car to make sure I get out of here alive!"
So here she was making fun of Betty, IN, saying it's so nice to be back in a real town. She made fun of how hillbilly that part of the state is, where you can see a "Powerkeg Fireworks" billboard, then a "PT's Showclub" billboard, then immediately following a "Jesus Saves" billboard. Tons of hilljack jokes. But the funniest part of the whole thing was all these people from Indy were like rolling on the floor laughing, "Yeah that's so hillbilly, we're totally not like that." Ummm, you do realize you're still in Indiana right? Brickyard, anyone? Ok ok, sorry. That was mean. :)
So.... sidenote: Not too long ago on Twitter, Kathy Griffin shared this above.
Then when she referred to getting beat by a Ryan Seacrest show at the Emmy's, she made this motion about him...
Ha! That's just naughty.
But the show was really really entertaining. She made fun of EVERYONE. No one was spared. Thousands of F-Bombs were dropped. Very funny.
On a personal note, she took some time to make fun of the show "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" which is one of my FAVORITE shows. I was almost giddy! (Yes, that links to the show website, which, by the way, also has a link to how you get ON the show. Awesome. Think I could fool them? "Der was a baby in ma turrlit!!" Gotta practice my accent.)
It was a super fun trip. Thanks to my aunt Shiela for putting it all together!

Tri Weekend
This weekend was Andrew's triathlon. Yes, you read that right. Andrew has moved from running 10Ks to doing triathlons (and playing hockey and whatever other hobby he wants to pick up right before the baby is born). The triathlon was in Niles, MI which is like a 20 minute drive from our house. Andrew has a knack for peer pressure or something because he convinced 4 friends to do this with him. Nice!
So his fellow tri-ers and their families all came over to our house for the weekend.
Some action shots from the race:
Carb-ing up the night before the race. (Andrew would like to note that Kevin did NOT carb up before the race since they got to our house too late to enjoy any "carbs").
Travis passed us first even though Andrew was the fastest swimmer. He passed Andrew in the transition area.
Then Andrew came running by us. Pay attention to the long sleeves. It was quite chilly that morning.
Stafford (red) was right behind Andrew (blue) when they took off on their bikes.
Here's a nice picture of AJ mounting his bicycle. ACTION SHOT! :)
Luke had to stop to put his chain back on. Of all the times to lose a chain! BUMMER!
BABY PARTY! This was the first time that Addie (pink) met Jack (green) and Wyatt (red).
Jack did not like the chilly weather. Actually this little cutie just has a natural habit of sticking his lip out. He was perfectly cozy in Wyatt's hat. :)
Wyatt enjoyed the bikes passing by.
When the guys returned from their bike portion, Andrew was READY TO RUN and almost dropped his bike. If you click on the picture, you can see him laughing.
Stafford crossed the finish line first. If you look closely at all the pictures of the guys, you can see them laughing because we were yelling at them as they ran/biked by. Maybe we shouldn't have said things like, "I LOVE A MAN IN SPANDEX!" and "MY HUSBAND HAS A GREAT BUTT!" Whoops.
Behold Andrew's spandex-clad butt in this action shot. :) Go Andrew GO!
There's goes Travis in his tri-suit!
Luke warned us about his tan lines. I guess we could never really be totally prepared. :-)
old man age group. AJ is a bit younger than the rest of the crew so I had to do a little cut and paste for his results.
So CONGRATS to the Triathletes! Very proud!
Here they are: Kevin, Andrew, Travis, Luke, & AJ. Congrats guys!
After the race we came back to our house to watch Notre Dame slaughter Purdue. Oh they only lost by 11 points? My bad. I was just reading all the Notre Dame versions of the game. :)
Yes, Purdue lost the game and we looked pretty bad. But we still have Hope that they will get their crap together and show us that speed and talent they've been bragging about. Come on, Boilers! You can do it!
So before, during and after the Purdue game was the baby party. Man, could these kids be any cuter?
Here's Jack drowning his sorrows from the Purdue game in his bottle. :)
Here's Addie in Outfit 2 (I think?? There were quite a few costume changes) of her fashion show. She was modeling some super hip leg warmers. You can't get much cuter than that!
Or can you? This is Wyatt and Jack modeling some matching red outfits in the green grass while posing with a basketball. I swear I did not set this picture up. The cuteness just exudes in a picture-perfect way every time!
Ok so the following pictures were totally set up. But seriously, what a photo-op!
I'm seriously considering sending these to the Kan Jam company. What a great advertisement!
Just chillin' inside...
But they didn't enjoy it the entire time...
Oh no!! He even cries with his bottom lip sticking out!! Poor Wyatt is like, "Um it's just Kan Jam, dude!"
Of course he had to see how it tastes!
Wyatt felt so manly in the Kan Jam game that he left out a big ol' howl. Ahhhwwwhoooooo!!!
You would think the cuteness stops there but it does not...
Awww, Wyatt gave Addie a kiss!
That's when Daddy Jacob decided to step in and say put a stop to things. :) Don't you think she's a little young for you, Mr. Wyatt?
Awww! Look at the grandparents-in-training! Not too much longer! :)
Andrew posed with Jack. Adorable.
With the babies around, the night didn't end up getting too rowdy. Even though the boys were playing some made-up Knockout/Waterfall game.
But then again, AJ DID end up in the baby seat...
Fun times! Let's do it again next year!

We couldn't be more excited for these guys. They did so well. They finished a Super Sprint Triathlon! Very cool. The full results are HERE.
But if you're feeling lazy, this is what you want.

26 Weeks: The Honeymoon is almost over
I think Brian might be getting tired of posing for pictures. I think it was the gold pom-pom cape the took it over the line. He looks so defeated. But I really thought he was excited for the Purdue/ND game this weekend.
I've just embarrassed my son for the first time by referring to his unit on my blog. Whoops.
Here's a more candid look at pregnancy from a different website...

Heartburn means lots of hair right? That's a GREAT thing.
And finally... your baby lesson of the day...
The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

Your Baby:
- Is almost two pounds. Celebrate this milestone with a two-pound box of chocolates. You know, in order to really get a good VISUAL.
- Remember those early bubbly butterfly kicks? Yeah. Those have been replaced by something akin to a rabid mongoose flippin’ out inside a burlap sack.
- If you DO occasionally feel smaller, rhythmic movements in your belly, it’s probably your baby hiccuping. Babies actually get hiccups from late in the first trimester on, but most women don’t pick on them the second trimester or later.
- All five senses are fully developed. Whoa.
You:
- Are in the last and final week of the second trimester! (At least according to the books I’ve chosen to listen to — some mark the beginning of the third trimester as week 27, while some make you wait until week 28. Look, we’re all big and lumpy and ridiculously cranky, let’s get this final trimester STARTED.)
- Of course, the end of the second trimester also marks the end of the so-called “honeymoon” phase of pregnancy, as the final three months can get awfully uncomfortable. Back and joint pain, swollen ankles, restless nights and Braxton-Hicks contractions, ahoy!
- You’ll gain about 1/2 inch in belly/fundal size EVERY WEEK from this point on, oh mah gah. I guess I should stop being so smug about those pre-pregnancy lowrise jeans I’ve been wearing (with just a little help from my trusty rubber band).
- The books say we’ve gained about 16-22 pounds, so long as we’ve been following a “nutritious and sensible diet plan.” Bite me, books.
Heartburn means lots of hair right? That's a GREAT thing.
And finally... your baby lesson of the day...
Danielle Gets Married
Last weekend we went to Rensselaer to attend Desi's sister Danielle's wedding. It was a lovely wedding, I have to say, and we had a really fun time.
The Keiper family did lots of dancing!
Jack showed off some awesome moves.
The whole family did the Hokey Pokey!
Isabel had some interesting dance moves with her blankie.
The groom looked handsome and the bride looked gorgeous. Although I must say she looks kinda sassy in this picture. :)
The girls REALLY wanted to catch the bouquet!
There were Jello Shots...
which Andrew enjoyed.
This little girl enjoyed her momm's heels. So cute!
Before the night was over, Lilli decided she was tired. She got a blanket and fell asleep under the buffet table.
Brian probably enjoyed the night the least because he spent it in his kennel. But he did get lei'ed when we got home. Good for him. :)
