First Family Purdue Game of the Year

Just kidding. We actually went to a game in February so we'll say this is the first game of the season.  There we go.  That's better.
We have new seats this year behind the visitors bench.  It's quite a hike to get up and down those stairs when it's potty time but the seats are great!

Family selfie!! Not as crazy as years in the past though.

A pic with just the ladies this time.

They have a new bobble head Pete.  He and she are number one!

A new season of watching the Boilers has begun.  Go Purdue!

Family Pic at the Park

Yeah my posts will need to be much simpler in the future.  I can't keep up! I'm 6 weeks behind at least.  Prepare for lots of catch up and one picture posts.  :-)

Gaga's Movie

We took a road trip to Syracuse last weekend.  We waited to tell Tommy until the beginning of the week.  It was a good thing because he talked about it ALL WEEK.  He knows his days of the week now so every single day we would go through the days and then he would say, "And then Saturday, we go to Syracuse!!"
(Look at that hair!) We hoped he would take a nap on the trip.  He did not.  For the first hour of the trip, he sat and just talked and mumbled to himself.  He didn't have anything to do! I thought he might cave and go to the sleep.  Wrong-o.  So then we gave him his iPad for some fun for him and silence for us.

Charlotte had no problem falling asleep.

 Hey, no peeking!

We had dinner at the Oakwood before the play. Charlotte and Aunt Jenny had some quality time during dinner.

Then it was time for the musical.  We've done this before, just not with kids. We explained to Tommy that it was going to be like a movie and that Gaga made it (because she is the director).  So it became Gaga's movie, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."  The four of us made it through the entire show! We were in and out a lot of course but every time Tommy left for a break, he always wanted to go back in to see Gaga's movie!

He let off some steam at intermission telling some random girl that she looked like his Mama (I took it as a compliment, not sure if she did).  He also walked through a crowd of high schoolers and then turned around to the whole family, pointed at the boys and said, "Watch out for THOSE guys."  He was quite entertaining!

After the show, Tommy pretended to take tickets while playing on Gaga's iPad.  They were both so excited to see each other.  It was so cool.

After the show, we stayed at the Oakwood (we've done this before too!) where they have exceptionally fluffy pillows.  Not even Tommy can handle the fluffiness.

The next day before we left, we checked out the house we are renting for our Summer Vacation on the lake.  CAN'T WAIT!!

We didn't stop on the way home and that was a mistake.  We had peed pants and a massive diaper blowout.  Two hours is TOO LONG to go without stopping after a big breakfast.  Holy Moly.  Straight to the bath with you two.
They loved it.

We had a super fun weekend in the 'Cuse.  Tommy loved Gaga's Movie and we were surprised how well the kids did with everything.

Their first musical was a success!

Thornburg Family Get-Together

Last weekend, we drove up to Syracuse to see a significant portion of the Thornburg family.  It was great! Andrew's aunt flew in from Colorado.  Andrew's uncle and aunt came down from Michigan. We all met at the Channel Marker for dinner to gather and celebrate. We had an awesome reason to celebrate...
Andrew's sister Erin and Doug got engaged! Hooray! We are so happy for these two!

I totally bogarted these pictures from Facebook, obviously.  Sorry, Erin. :) Hope you don't mind! But CONGRATS!! :)

So we gathered at the restaurant to eat, drink and be merry.
Tommy met some of these family members for the first time!

He loved playing with his cousins (second cousins? twice removed, once over easy cousins? No clue).

We took some family pictures by the lake.

Here are all the siblings together.  Tommy's Pop, John, Jenny and Jill

Here's Gram, Pop and Tommy who's not too sure about getting his picture taken.

This one is a little better.

Here's the only Thornburg immediate family pic (along with Eli) for which we obviously were not ready.

Tommy loves boats so he led dada onto the pier and tried to get on some stranger's boat.  He knows what he wants I guess. :)

After dinner, we went to Jenny's house to play and have dessert.  Tommy was thrilled with Pop pushing him around on the trike.

Then Pop pushed Tommy on the swing...

Then he pushed him on another swing! I bet Pop was tired!

We finally convinced Tommy to come inside. Aunt Jenny bought his favorite, veggie chips, so he munched on those.

 MORE VEGGIE CHIPS, PLEASE!!

 Aww, sweet moment with Gram.

Then it was time to play Cookie Cop with Lydia.

Tommy had such a great time seeing family this weekend.  We were so glad we were able to make it to see everyone.  Especially when we have something so exciting to celebrate.  Congrats again to Erin and Doug!

We're a Happy Family

For Christmas I got my family members gift certificates to a local restaurant, Blue Fin. We decided to use them all together as a family.  Travis and Katie also had a sitter for the evening so we invited them to come too and they brought Katie's friend Laura.  It was a party of 11 and boy was it ever a party!
I took all these pics with my iPhone and it was dark so I apologize for the lack of quality.
We ate lots of sushi and downed quite a few shots.

You can tell my parents were enthused about all the shots. :-)

Cool pic of iPhone taking a pic of another iPhone.

The non-family part of the table! Non-blood related anyway.  Still family.

Adam and Steph made most of the plans for the evening.  We learned we should never doubt their party planning skillz.

We realized at this point that the shots may have been a bad idea when Brandon couldn't tell a story sitting down.

Mmmmm Mahi Mahi adorned with a flower! Fancy!

Are you kidding me? More shots? Why did we think "Sibling Shots" were a good idea??

After the sushi/booze fest, we went to the Piano Bar!! Yay! We got right in and got these mighty table toppers.
Our name is Keiper and we like to party. :-)
 Especially Adam and Steph!

Andrew and Travis know how to party too.

Desi's having fun but Brandon doesn't have a clue how to party.  Ha!

Katie and Laura are having a good time sitting next to the guy that requested Bruce play Time Warp.

Then he went up on stage and danced to it with the girl that was sitting at Brandon and Desi's table.

We liked her at first.  She was a lot of fun.

Until she became the shot-taker in this situation.  Then we were all grossed out.  All except for Brandon and...
These two bozos.  A standing O?? Seriously? Gross.

Katie, Laura and I busied our selfs by talking about our collection of pirate boots. (Not to be confused with Pirate's Booty. YUM!)

Brandon went up on stage to request a song and Bruce called him out saying he was wearing a Mr. Rogers sweater.  What Brandon should have said is, "Bitch!?! This is POLO!" But instead, he modeled his sweater for the whole bar. Impressive modeling sir!

We closed down the piano bar.  So then it was dance time.  Or fisticuffs time??

Steph tried to teach Katie how to booty shake....
When really it should have been Travis! :)

Surprisingly, after all those shots and all that beer, I did not chunder my brains out the entire next day. I can't say I felt amazing though.  Lucky for us, Tommy's Gram was there to play and have fun while we recovered.
Thanks so much, Gram!
(Yes he is sitting in our ottoman tray in that picture.)
