Occasionally...
Does he know what that means? No clue. But it's awesome!

10 Months!
Tommy is 10 months old!! Are you kidding me? Where has the time gone? He's almost a year old! It's mind boggling.
I got him to sit on the couch for just a second. He did smile but he already had his eye on doing something else. That something else? Diving off the couch. The child has no fear. :)So what's new with Thomasaurus?
He's talking... a lot. He can say G sounds and C sounds which is pretty cool.
But like all new tricks, watch out. He's going to do it constantly. He says "GA!" and "CAW!" first thing in the morning, all day long and even before bed.
He also likes to finish the word Caw with the same letter that it begins with. That proves to be embarrassing in public situations because it turns into a dirty word. We try to pass it off as Duck or Quack but people are not fooled. :-)
He crawls so fast. He flies!
Especially when chasing after his new car!
He still makes the same fart noises with his mouth (and of course sometimes without his mouth).
Fish lips are still fun for him too.
He pulls himself up on everything. I am waiting patiently for him to figure out he can walk. I thought I saw him the other day try to take a few steps without the couch for help. But he went down too quickly for me to be able to tell.
I love this picture. He looks like such a hipster model. Does Urban Outfitters need a baby line? He's your man, baby. (He's not a "manbaby", but do feel free to spend some time on that website. A little creepy but funny.)
-He still likes to take off his socks. That definitely hasn't changed.
-I think he's starting to actually say Mama to me. It's more like Mumum but I think he gets the idea. He also says "I-dada" every once in a great while. I think that would be my fault. Every time we walk into a room where Andrew is, I make him wave and I say, "Say Hi Dada!" But that could be all in my mind. :-) After the dirty word incident (that cannot be our fault! we don't go around saying that word for fun! I have no idea where he got it!), we tried to get him to change it to GA!, which then changed to GO! That's a lot more appropriate and fun. :-)
-He's still got only 4 teeth but I think we might be moving into another round of teething as we speak.
-He's still having issues with an easy gag reflex. He had a few more crazy vomiting incidents which were not fun. We're not sure if he's allergic to dairy or if he just has an overactive gag reflex and we should just be really careful. As of now, we no longer feed him goldfish, yogurt melts, or beef and macaroni baby food. They were all taken off the list after serious non-stop vomiting incidents. Poor guy. :-( He can't eat baby food and cheerios for the rest of his life!
He'll be fine. I know, I know. We just have to work on that gag reflex. He'll get it.
Let's see what else is new?? Oh did I mention he's still ridiculously cute?
Happy 10 Month Birthday Tommy! How cool that it fell on 10-10-11!
Regular Pacifiers are Just Not Good Enough
Tommy found that the top to his sippy cup made quite a nice pacifier.
It only covers up half his face. But it really does the trick.
What a silly cutie!
Updation Station
I just made up a word!
So we needed to do some updating to the house. We started with the kitchen.
This is what the kitchen looked like before...
We debated on a few different colors.
We chose this color (the third one down). We also got new appliances and new handles for the cabinets.
Better, no? We think the wood countertops look a little less noticeable than in the old pictures. We still need to replace those fabulous light fixtures but it's a vast improvement.
We also painted the living room the same color. Here's how it used to look.
Then we painted, took down the hat racks on each side of the TV area, and added our things.
What do you think? A little homier? A little more our style?

Tommy and His New House
Tommy seems to really enjoy the new digs. Here he is the day we took possession. Look at all that space he has!
Of course he doesn't want to play with toys. Give him a plastic bowl and a bottle of lotion and he's in heaven! He could play all day.
Oh jeez, add a cardboard box into the mix and he will entertain himself for days.
After we moved everything into the house, we let him play. Since the house had been vacant for 2 years, we didn't realize how dirty it was. Tommy was FILTHY. Poor guy. Look at his knees and feet! Gross!
But he doesn't care! He's loving it!
I think this picture is hilarious. He looks so mischievous.
Tommy has already had visitors at his house. His cousins, Lilli and Isabel, came over to play! He loves, loves, LOVES to play catch with the basketball bouncing it back and forth. He also loves it when more than one person plays. He's very equal opportunity. He likes to make sure each person catches and throws it back to him.
Then his buddy Wyatt came over to play too. He was moving fast in the picture so I was lucky to catch him in this cute moment. What a stud!
Look at the boys in their jammies! Aww!!
Tommy's other favorite thing to do is play in the tub, even without water.
He has been making the funniest faces lately.
Blah blah blah, Mom! :-) He looks like he's about to roll his eyes or something!
He's having a great time playing with mom's clothes in the tub.
AAHHHH LOOOVVVEEE PLAYING IN THE TUB! :)
So happy!

Our New Digs
As you can tell from the masthead, the Thornburgs have MOVED!
AGAIN! If you're keeping count, we had an apartment together in Lafayette after college. Then we bought a house on the south side of Lafayette. Then we sold our house and moved into a temporary duplex in West Lafayette until we moved up north. Then we moved into an apartment in Granger when we finally moved up north. Then we bought a house in South Bend and lived there for 2+ years. Then we recently sold our house in South Bend and lived with my parents in Rensselaer from the end of June until just last weekend when we moved into our house in Lafayette. SEVEN! Seven residences, Ah Ah Ah!
We moved into the house last weekend with the help of many many people. Thanks go out to my parents, Andrew's parents, my brother Brandon and his family, my brother Adam and his girlfriend Steph, and Andrew's friend Nick. Without them, we wouldn't have been able to do this. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends. Yes, we owe you. Big Time. :) Especially my parents. I know they enjoyed having Tommy around but wow did we crowd you for 3+ months. That's a long time to share one bathroom. We got close! :)
Sooooo... let's get on to the house. I won't bore you with all the details (they are here). I'll just show you the highlights.
The backyard is leafy and gorgeous. We haven't quite figured out where our property line is yet though.
Check out the Weather Vane!! How cool is that??
We have a screened-in porch...
and a deck!
Look at that super cute window baby!
We have built in shelves in the finished part of the basement.
We have creepy handprints in the unfinished part of the basement. Yikes.
This is the master with the giant window.
This tub is amazing (or as Casey Wilson's character on Happy Endings says, "Am-AH-zing.") It seriously is HUGE. Love it.
There are great wood floors. Check out the recessed ceiling with a Mac Daddy chandelier.
We are sooooo blessed to have found this house. We can't wait to make it our own. But for now, we just need to organize. Hopefully we'll get some painting done by the end of the week. Look for updates in the future! Yay!
