Hey check it out! Our wood floors are fiiiiiiiiinally done. After a math miscalculation in the Thornburg Purchasing Department, we finally have real wood floors. Hooray!
Yikes, that couch is looking a little pruney. But don't look at the couch. Look at the glorious FLOORS!!
Almost everything is back in place but most importantly the FLOORS ARE DONE! Yay!! Also, please notice the amazing job Andrew did cleaning the floors while I was gone this weekend. Wow! What a guy, what a guy!

Craigslist is apparently the best thing since sliced bread
I get home from work and this is the first thing I see...
AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!
Oh, it's you.
Andrew needed pads and whatever else hockey players use for his game on Sunday night. He was going to go to Kalamazoo to go to some giant hockey store to get some stuff but he found all that you can see above on Craigslist for less than a fifth of what his buddy spent. GOOD DEAL!
Andrew is going to skate for the second time on Friday night before his game on Sunday. He's wearing those weird looking pants to open skate.
I think I may act like I don't know him.

A Warrant Has Been Issued For My Arrest!!
Yes, that's right, folks. Someone in the lovely community of South Bend has issued a warrant for my arrest. I knew I should have been more careful about moving here!!
(Yes, I totally used a picture from my Disney trip. That is the Buzz Lightyear ride.)
Actually, I'm being "arrested" for a wonderful cause. An anonymous person (I will find out who you are) dropped my name to the MDA Lockup Event, thinking I would be a great person to go out and get donations. A police officer will be visiting my work place to cuff me and haul me away to the Morris Bistro (or "jail") where I will meet other pillars of the community (Yes, that is why I was picked, because I'm a pillar of the community already. Who woulda thunk it?), eat some great food, and enjoy an hour away from the office. The hard part is right now. I have to find people to donate money so that I can raise bail of $1300!!! YOWZA!!
So I'm a little worried. I would like to get out of "jail"!
To donate to this great cause, you can go to
https://www.joinmda.org/southbendlockup2010/morganthornburg
and donate directly from my homepage. Every donation is tax deductible and every little bit counts. Also, if I'm one of the "Top Jailbirds" (one of the top donation earners), I will invited to appear on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon on Fox 28. How exciting is that??
So please have a heart for Jerry's Kids! Donate and pass the word on! I know tax time is in the back of your mind right now (seeing that April 15th was only 2 months ago) but I know you will want to have some deductions for your 2010 tax year!!!
Here is where your money could go:
Contribution Services
$30 Flu Shot
$74 One minute of research
$100 One support group session
$150 One occupational, physical, respiratory or speech
therapy consultation
$300 Professional fees related to initial diagnostic
work-up at an MDA clinic
$500 Annual repairs of durable medical equipment
$800 Week at MDA summer camp for one child
So please donate to this great cause! You can make a difference!

Daddy Day Care
This weekend we drove down to Brookston to hang out with Travis, Katie and Wyatt for a cookout. As it turns out, it was BABY CITY on Saturday. Lots of people came over and brought their babies. There were 5 babies in attendance (as my mom says, "Yours is the only one that came in a handy carrying case"). The next few sentences are going to sound a little silly (like the begat chaper in the bible) but it will help you determine who everyone is.
Wyatt Neal (son of Travis and Katie Neal), Jack Stafford (son of Kevin and Diane Stafford), David Heath (son of Drew and Tressa Heath), and Teagan Holle (son of Mike and Tiffany Holle) were all in attendance at the BBQ on Saturday. Funny thing was, I was the only female in attendance for most of the day until Tressa (and Drew) showed up. Phew! It really was like Daddy Day Care. It was funny to watch the boys with their boys.
This is Kevin, Wyatt, Jack and Andrew playing together.
This is Jack standing like a big boy. I'm surprised he wasn't grinning in this picture. He grinned all day long.
Here you can see Wyatt naked. He loves being naked. It's his house. He can do what he wants! :)
As you can tell, Jack takes after his dad in the chugging department.
This is Wyatt in his Johnny Jump Up. He is quite the jumper!
Then it was POOL TIME! Travis and Katie got this awesome kiddie pool for the kiddos. They loved it.
No, this is not a "special effect". It was actually that muggy out on Saturday. Gross! Reminds me of something Olan Mills would do.
Here's a fun shot of Wyatt with some water action.
Jack was loving the water too. It was cold but they didn't seem to mind at all!
We had three boys in the water at once but Teagan is pretty young and not quite ready for freezing cold water...
As you can see here. The water did not make him happy.
When Teagan got upset, Wyatt followed suit and had a tiny 20 second breakdown. Then it was back to playtime.
This video makes me laugh because of the inappropriate squirting the pool is doing between his legs. That is the pool, not Wyatt, I swear.
This next video cracks me up because the water is shooting so high, it looks like Jack is getting absolutely drenched. But he continues to chill.
It's like he's sitting in the Bellagio fountain in Vegas and he's loving it.
He reminds of a scene in a movie...
The fourth baby that was there but didn't get to enjoy pool time was David. I didn't get a picture of him while he was there so I grabbed one of Drew and David from Facebook.
Aww!
Okay on to one last picture of cute babies...
Say it with me now.... Awwww!

14 weeks: Belly or Big Lunch?
What do you think? I personally think that Culver's lunch is what's really showing but since it doesn't go away, I guess we'll go with baby bump.
I've been feeling kind of like this cartoon
for awhile now but I think I won't be able to hide it for much longer.
(I'm going to now do what Ashley, fellow blogger and often commenter, did during her pregnancy. Hope you don't mind me stealing your idea, Ashley! Here are some weekly updates from people who know what they're talking about! Fun!)
According to my weekly emails from babycenter.com:
This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him -- a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches -- about the size of a lemon -- and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.
Sooooo if the baby is starting to make facial expressions, do you think he or she can make this face yet?

Oh this poor, poor child...

Traci's Real Bachelorette Party
Traci's shower and bachelorette party were this weekend. We had lots and lots of fun just getting together and reminiscing about old college memories and getting excited about Traci's upcoming wedding.
Here are the girls holding our inflatable penii (that's the plural version of penis, right?).
Mandy is trying to open a bottle of champagne which no one drank.
We ate some tasty engagement rings. So cute!
I tried my first non-alcoholic beer. It was okay. It wasn't beer, that's for sure.
Traci got lots of fine sexy gifts. Plus she had to wear the penis necklace which we caught her absentmindedly playing with all night.
I got her this nightie. (Meee-ooow!)
Amanda got her a few choice things. Some whip cream...
Some Hershey's syrup....
More chocolate sauce and WET ONES! How thoughtful! It is very messy making homemade sundaes. ;)
She also got her a naughty toy in a box. We don't need to go into detail on that one. But did you know you can buy those at Target? I'm not kidding. Check out the pharmacy section near the razors. No joke!
I had to take a picture of this gift. It was one of two that Holly's dad wrapped. Not only does he love Dale Earnhardt, but he also loves professional gift wrapping. He's really good at it too. Very artistic. I wish I would have gotten a better picture. It was perfectly wrapped with only a couple pieces of tape. It could have been a Grand Champion 4-H project! Amazing!
After we opened gifts, we played Pin the P___ on the Man. Those yellow things are our P_____s. Look at cute little Mattie asleep on the couch. It was a long night for her. :)
And poor poor Mattie... guess where we put all of our P____s after we were done with them? Poor pup! :)

Future Blackhawks Right Here
Friday night Andrew and I went ice skating. Yes, ice skating... in June. Weird right? But Andrew's friend joined a local hockey league and told Andrew he should join too. Andrew had never skated before so he decided to give it a try at Open Skate on Friday night.
Look at the look on his face. I guess he's really not sure what to think about it. He really improved in just an hour of skating. I was impressed. He started out skating mostly by the wall like this.
But then he let go of his "training wheels" and it looked a little more like this.
As you can kind of see in the video, ice skating is fairly popular in South Bend even in June. I think once Andrew feels a little more comfortable on skates, he'll probably join the league. Maybe I can join next year!

Painter Paints Domer Country Black and Gold
Tonight Andrew, Andrew's dad Tom, and I went to the Purdue Alumni Association dinner. It was at the Morris Park Country Club. This place is extremely nice. In fact, Andrew checked the website and there are no prices for membership on the website. You just have to "apply". Yiiiiikkkeeesss.
Anyway the food was amazing. The guest speaker was even better. The St. Joe Valley Purdue Alumni Association was able to get Coach Matt Painter to speak at tonight's function.
He was a fantastic speaker. He had all kinds of great stories. Let's see if I can recall a couple...
Painter talked about one of the former players who came to the dinner tonight. These players grew up in the South Bend area, went to Purdue and came back to the area afterward. One of the players in attendance, Jaraan Cornell, went to Clay High School. Painter was telling us that when he does Walk-Throughs during practice, no one is allowed to talk or mess around in any way. No noise. No one dribbling a basketball or anything distracting. Until one day, a guy walks in and starts shooting hoops during their Walk-Throughs. Painter doesn't even acknowledge that the guy is totally distracting the team. One of the players finally says, "Who is that guy that's shooting hoops and why is he allowed to do that during our Walk-Throughs?" Painter says, "That's Jaraan Cornell and if you score 1700 points for Purdue, I'll let you do whatever the hell you want, too."
Painter said that he sat down with one of the players, Matt Kiefer. Kiefer told him, "Coach, I can't play when Coach Keady yells at me." Painter said, "Matt, did you have a TV down in Evansville?"
"Yeah."
"Did you watch the Purdue games on that TV?"
"Yeah."
"And what did Coach Keady do during those games?"
"He yelled."
"So what did you think would happen when you got here?"
During the Q&A session at the end of his speech, someone asked Painter what he thought about the NCAA violations not following coaches when they switch from job to job. Painter said, "Well you know it's funny. I just read this article the other day where Jerry Tarkanian once said, 'The NCAA was so mad at Kentucky that they put Cleveland State on probation for two more years.'"
The dinner and banquet were excellent. There was a live auction where they had people bid for basketballs signed by Matt Painter. They also had a silent auction. It made me wish I brought more cash. There was some great stuff on the tables. Tom decided to bid on the Purdue bib.
He WON with a bid only a dollar over the original price! SWEET! All the money goes toward scholarships for local students going to Purdue so money well spent.
The only problem was being that it was a local dinner, many people that I work with in my office were at the dinner. I haven't informed any of these people that I am expecting. They announced all the Silent Auction winners and said, "The winner of the BABY BIB is TOM THORNBURG." One of the guys comes up to me after the event and says, "So... I heard you won a bid item." Whoopsie! Haha!
And now... finallly.... the great reveal.... the BEST part of going to the Alumni dinner.....
They were able to get a picture with Matt Painter!! How cool is that??????? Is he tall or what?
I practically forced them to stick around and stand in line to get a picture with him. They thought he would have to race out of there. But it took about 5 minutes and they were shaking his hand! I'm so glad we got this picture. Very exciting!

Who Loves Cute Baby Videos?
Sunday night after the race, we got to see Wyatt for a little bit. He scoots and pushes and crawls! It's so funny. I had to turn down the sound quite a bit because my voice was so annoying. Better learn to watch that! :)
