36 Weeks: Wait, did you say 9 Months Pregnant?
I still have 4 more weeks. Oy. I think if it keeps getting bigger, I'm eventually going to just topple over.
But anyway, let's talk about fun stuff... liiiiiike... check out a teeny sneak peak of the nursery!! The carpet is done, the furniture has been put together... it's almost finished. Not quite. I'm sorry to tease you but we're almost done! We have things left to do so no full pictures until it's done. Sorry! :)
Let's see what the experts have to say about Mr. T this week.
Babycenter.com:
Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. He now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. He's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered his body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected his skin during his nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of his first bowel movement.
At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely he's in a head-down position. But if he isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating him from the outside of your belly.
Alphamom.com:
Your Baby is six pounds. SIX. POUNDS. You probably have clothes in your house that already fit a six-pound baby. He is still not fully cooked yet, even though MOST babies born at this point will do just fine. But the lungs are better off with a couple more weeks of maturity. The size of your baby will start displacing amniotic fluid over the final few weeks. As the fluid gets reabsorbed into your body, you may notice that your baby’s movements feel “different.” You might not feel as many kicks as you used to, or the sensations are just…well, “different.” It’s mostly because of the cramped quarters in there and less fluid.
You are not done yet. I am sorry. You have gained 25 to 30 pounds, according to the books, which also say that it’s “not unusual” for your weight to remain unchanged between weekly OB appointments. Say it with me: SHUT UP, BOOKS.
Me:
My doctor's appointment this week went well. The doctor felt around my belly and said the baby was definitely in the head down position (HOORAY!) and she could feel his back and his butt. It was crazy to see what she was talking about as she was feeling around. My belly is usually lopsided and that's exactly where his back was. I know where his body parts are! It's nuts!
But seriously, what is the deal with the hiccups??? He has them probably twice a day. Freaks me out a little. But I know it's normal and healthy. It's just so often. What's he doing in there to cause those hiccups? Poor guy.
Now it's time for your weekly Baby Care Class...
Can you tell I'm missing the potent potables?
I found a few more pregnancy lessons for you all.
Yeah, there it is again with the alcohol. It's been awhile.
Let's try another lesson...
Yes, that's good advice. No witch doctors. Unless they have something that tastes like a Captain and Coke, then I could be persuaded.

Happy Birthday Max: Our Indy Visit
We made a day trip to Indy on Saturday for Max's 1st birthday party. Boy, it was weird to go to a party there with 8 babies and 4 preggos. The last time we were at their house was for a New Year's Eve party complete with a full beer pong tournament. The day/night turned out much different this time around.
Starting with BIRTHDAY CAKE!!
YUM! Sugar high!
Here's Andrew holding Max's best bud Jack. I'm sure Jack was a little jealous of the cake chow down but his birthday is in a few weeks too. Just hang on until then, Jack. Not too much longer!
Here are the best buds Jack and Max playing with the coolest toy. I want one! (Do they make them in adult sizes?) It's Max's inflatable hopping horse named Rody! So cool! It comes in many colors. It's also French. Oh la la. :)
Just as we were thinking about taking off, Max became extremely interested in those bright shiny presents in the corner. Turns out, he started opening ours first! Andrew picked out and wrapped this gift all by himself so I couldn't wait to see how Max would like it.
Oddly enough, it became a baby magnet! Everyone wanted to play with the cool new toy. It is this top-like device that you put plastic balls in, press down on the top, and the inside starts spinning. When the inside spins it throws the balls around and when you open the window the balls fly out. It was a HIT! They would pick up the balls and put them back in and watch them shoot out again. Tons of fun for those baby boys!
Note to self: Have Andrew pick out all kids gifts from now. :)
Look at how fun this is!
After the birthday bash, we headed over to the Glovers to see new baby Jack.
Look at him!! So tiny and so cute! Happy 3rd day of life Baby Jack!
I'm sad I didn't get a picture with Megan or Tristan but I guess that's what happens when you have a baby. Better get used to it huh? :-)
I can't believe we're going to have one of these soon! CRAZY!
Oh quick side note. We woke up Saturday morning to THIS before leaving South Bend.
Yep, the Great White North is back for another season! It was fun to show everyone in Indy how much snow we got.
I really don't think they were jealous. Weird, huh? :)
But by the time we got home that night, the snow was mostly gone. This is abnormal for South Bend, only because we usually have snow like this in October so it's a little late this year. Yeah, abnormal in THAT regard. Oh joy.

The Super Happy News Post!!!
I love super happy news. I've got three super happy things to share.
First! Happy Super Belated Birthday Brittany!!!
Brittany was my Very First Birthday Post last year! I've been wishing happy birthdays through my mega awesome Paint skills for a YEAR now. Can you believe it? Happy Birthday to you, Sweeney-ass and Happy Birthday to birthday posts on my blog.
SECOND! Happy Birthday to Sweet Baby Ray! He is one year old on November 2nd!
Here he is one year ago...
Here he is... well not today. But back in August. I wish I had a more updated picture of him (Meeghan!).
But who cares because that picture is so darn cute!
FINALLY, your last bit of super happy news.
Welcome to the world, John "Jack" Casey Glover!!! Bi-yotch looks gorgeous, no? Did she really *just* have a baby?? Come on, mess your hair or something! Ha!
You remember Megan from this post about our eggos being preggo together, right? It has been quite fun comparing preggo stories.
So anyway, Jack was born on November 3rd at 5:25 am weighing in at 5 lbs 10 oz. He was in a slight rush to meet mom and dad but of course he was perfectly healthy. Happy happy news for the Glover family.
Such a sweetie! I can't wait for our boys to make trouble together! (Meeghan, you'll need to make sure Ray keeps Jack and Baby T in line, being that he's older and wiser!)

35 Weeks: Batter Up!
Growing and growing...
Babycenter.com:
Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.
Alphamom.com:
Your Baby is over five pounds now, although these weight guesstimates will start getting very useless very quickly over the next few weeks. Since most of your baby’s organs are fully functional and major developmental milestones behind him or her, the next month is all about weight gain. And since “normal” weights for newborns these days can be anything between six and 10 pounds, it’s hard to predict how big YOUR baby will be from here on in.
You are the very picture of motherly grace and beauty. Also: waddling. Fatigue may be a big problem right now. You may need a daily nap, or find yourself crawling into bed by 9 pm. (I can barely make it to my toddler’s 8:30 bedtime most nights.) And while I’ve always seethed at people who love to cheerfully remind pregnant women to “Get some sleep! Once the baby’s here you won’t get any sleep!” I have to say…dude, get some sleep.
Group B Strep Test
At this week's appointment, I had the Group B streptococci test. They do this to test for a certain kind of bacteria and they test for it by swabbing the area... DOWN THERE. Ew. It was also going to be my first appointment with a male OBGYN. It doesn't help that almost every girl I've talked to who goes to the same practice said this guy was super hot. Grrrrrrrreat. So I'm nervous but I'm thinking to myself, "This won't be so bad. No big deal. He can't be THAT hot." :) Luckily he wasn't. He was just a nice-looking man. No where NEAR as attractive as Drewfus. So that's was good. Not sure what all the fuss was about.
But the ROOM! Oh, the room is what made this day interesting. This room was different from the others we have been in. This room had extra equipment and it was smaller. It was full. Because it was so full, there was only one place for a chair for Andrew to sit in. Normally Andrew sits on one side by my head. But this time...
Well I'll have to draw you a mental picture.......
Morgan on the exam table. The stirrups form somewhat of a batter's box if you will (sorry for the unfortunate comparison). The doctor, we'll just say, is the batter with his Swab. Then there's Andrew... the poor, horribly uncomfortable catcher. He was RIGHT THERE, FRONT ROW, and there was nowhere for him to go. He could only look UP because there was no where else to look.
Look, I'm not kidding. Say, like, in a different world where babies SHOOT out of a mother's pelvis? Well Andrew could have easily caught the baby without moving. SO UNCOMFORTABLE.
Now I know, I know. All modesty goes out the window when you have babies. I'm prepared for that. But it was such an unfortunate set up that all I could picture was the Baby T World Series. AWKWARD!
Baby Thornburg
So I told you I would post more pics from Halloween. Well, guess what Baby T was for Halloween?
THAT, my friends, was really hard to do! Obviously, it was done by looking in a mirror. :) But I did it all by myself! Can you believe that? But don't ask me to do that again. It was exhausting!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Halloween is my favorite holiday but we only had plans to stay home and work on the house. Boo!
I guess you could say it's our SCAAAARRRIIIEEESSSTTT Halloween yet... we're becoming PARENTS!! WOOOOOOO!!! Scary!! :)
So we (and by we, I mean Andrew) ripped up the carpet for the new carpet install next week. Fun times were had by all (and by all, I mean no one). Andrew cut himself and bled all over. But that just adds to the love that we're putting into the house, right?
We're replacing carpet on the stairs and the hallway...
The baby's room...
and the guest room.
I gotta tell ya... the house smells 10 times better. I mean, you can see a few dog stains here and there but just getting that stanky carpet out of our house is a HUGE improvement. (I feel bad for all the people that have had to stay in our house with that nasty smell.) Thanks, former owners! Glad you could take the time to let your dog out once in awhile!!!! Oh wait, nope, you actually didn't. Poor poor pup. :(
Andrew got a little surprise when he tore up the carpet in the baby's room. The baby's room just happens to be the room where the former owner's teenage daughter lived.
She had hidden some notes underneath the carpet!! I wonder if she remembers leaving those there? Well anyway, now we have them and we know ALL HER SECRETS!! HAHA! We're gonna call her parents!! Just kidding. But these notes are hilarious. Typical teenage stuff.
I whited out a few things to protect the innocent. But boy, do I remember being that age....
and I'm glad I don't have to go back! :)
I should have posed in MY picture like this muchacha. What in the heck is she looking at? And how photoshopped is that picture? Wow.
This picture is obviously not photoshopped. Here is your Jack O'Lantern for Halloween! Andrew helped me on this one. It's really hard to paint your own giant gut.
Stayed tuned for later in the week when I post my other painting masterpiece.
But for now, you'll just have to wait. HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

So I know my brother Brandon has been waiting for this for months but I FINALLY broke out the Belly Painting Kit that he got me for my birthday back in August! Perfect for Halloween!

Oh and by the way for trick or treaters this year, we had about 7 kids and a horse. Not joking about the horse.

34 Weeks: Turtle Power!
Today marks the 34th week in my pregnancy. Brian has made this pregnancy so much more fun. He's a hero in a half shell, TURTLE POWER! :)
Babycenter.com:
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well.
Whattoexpect.com:
What's new this week? Your baby is clocking in at five pounds and could be as tall as 20 inches by now, and the vernix (the white coating protecting your baby’s skin) is getting thicker. This week, a boy's testicles start making their way down from his abdomen to their final destination: his scrotum (look out below!). In other baby-related developments, those tiny fingernails have probably reached the tips of his fingers by now — and getting ready for that first postpartum manicure.
Alphamom.com:
For mom-- Fatigue, heartburn, nausea, frequent trips to the bathroom. It’s like the Return of the First Trimester, only much bigger and rounder and gruntier. Don’t forget to do your Kegel exercises, not only in preparation for childbirth but also to stop the unfortunate peeing-when-you-laugh-or-sneeze phenomenon, which can get pretty out of hand in these final weeks. SO NOT KIDDING ABOUT THAT.
ME:
Yes, fatigue. Yes, heartburn. Yes, ridiculously frequent trips to the bathroom. FUN TIMES!! But it's not that bad. I'm not going to go all drama queen on you and say that it's so hard because it's totally not. (Well except for the bathroom trips. You've got to be kidding me! I can hardly get anything done!)
Next week begins my weekly trips to the doctor. I'm nervous because I'll be seeing my first male obgyn ever. Ewwww weird. I'm sure it'll be fine. I'm seeing two men in the next month in fact. The rest are women but I have to see all the doctors in the practice because any of them could deliver Baby T. So we'll see I guess!
We went to the After Baby Comes class last night. It was informative. We learned how to swaddle, soothe and bathe a baby. Well... this doll actually...
(On the class evaluation form, there was a question asking how can they improve the class. Andrew wrote "LIVE BABIES!" Don't worry, he also wrote just kidding.)
We sat next to a couple that were going to be adopting a baby girl in two weeks. When they introduced themselves to the class and told their story, I will admit I teared up a bit.
How can you not? Stone cold hearted people you are!
Anyway, here are a few tidbits that we learned from the class:
1.) Bringing the baby to bed can be bad when the mother has a man besides the father in bed with her. The father has the instinct to not roll over the baby where as a strange man is more likely. This is a FACT that they felt the need to inform us in this class. We all laughed. But apparently enough mothers have strange men in bed with them (and their newborns!!!) that they have become aware of this statistic. No joke. So don't bed strange men with a newborn. Got it!
2.) SHUSHING a baby is a great calming technique. Now I've seen mothers ssh-ssh-ssh a crying baby. That's no big deal. But the video we watched, OMG. This guy gets all up in the baby's bizness and goes, "SSSHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" like it's deaf! I actually covered my ears during the video because it was so disturbing to me for this poor baby! But apparently, the womb is a very noisy place. I guess the sounds the baby experiences are as loud as a hair dryer next to the ear. So the guy shushes very loudly and the baby instantly calms down. (He says you have to be louder than the baby's cry or he can't hear you.) You can just see the baby's face relax and the eyes open and then start to shut. It was INSANE! Instantly calm baby. So shushing or white noise are good for a baby. Got it!

Painting... Birthday Celebrating... Showering
We accomplished quite a lot this weekend. Friday night Adam and Steph came up to visit. We went out to eat at Villa Macri and then went to see Jackass 3D.
I gagged... scratch that, dry-heaved, at several parts. But the worst by far was the "Sweatsuit Cocktail". Andrew almost ended up with barf in his lap. He kept saying, "LOOK AWAY!" but I just couldn't. I had to see what happened.
It was funny though because when we were telling my parents about it, I gagged again just thinking about it.
Probably looked a little something like this...
Ugh, gross. But parts of it were very entertaining... and completely stupid.
Anyway, my parents came that night too after the the Bomber football game. We were ready to get up nice and early to start painting the nursery. Too bad we didn't start until 2ish.
But look at how FUN this looks!!
I really like the old color and new color together. They're kinda fun!
But alas that wouldn't match our brown and blue turtles. So we continued painting.
When six people are helping, it goes really fast. The first coat was done in about an hour.
Dad did an excellent job with the ceiling! He has quite the steady hand.
Mom painted the closet. It looks 10 times better. Thank goodness!
The second coat took half the time and we were able to quit early to go to dinner. It was Adam's birthday weekend!
(How nice that he wanted to spend it with us, painting! I think he has an ulterior motive. He wants to break the record for youngest wakeboarder so I think he's lining up Baby T for that job. Watch out!)
So we went to Soho, a Japanese Bistro with hibachi tables. According to Wikipedia, I should be saying Teppanyaki instead. Whoops. Anyway...
Here are Mom and Dad about to enjoy some FIIIIIIRE!!! The guy behind them lit the grill and Dad ducked like WHAT THE HELL?? Are they setting this place on FIRE?? It was pretty funny.
Andrew and I, looking serious.
Andrew and I trying to photobomb Adam and Steph.
Then I decided to go it alone and photobomb Adam and Steph. :)
My eyes don't cross like a normal... eleven year old.
ONION TOWER ON FIRE!!!! That onion tower was only two stories. Kinda disappointing.
Here's our chef preparing our delicious meal.
This is the beer that Adam and Andrew decided to order. Red Rice Beer. YUM!
(Warning: It's actually disgusting and causes headaches the next day. Just thought I'd fill you in. Cool bottle though.)
Adam and Andrew decide to do a sake bomb. Here's the video...
Adam won! But it was his birthday! Plus he's 6 years younger so he should win. :)
Then the chef heard that it was Adam's birthday so he decided to give him another sake shot... which ended up being like 3 shots. He drooled a little on the carpet. :)
And finally the Birthday Sundae! A Japanese pound cake with ice cream rolled into it and chocolate syrup and other stuff on top. YUMMMMM!!!!
On Sunday, we had another shower in Warsaw. It was lovely!
Look at how CUTE that tiny little Purdue jersey is!!! Awwww!! I told Andrew Baby T can wear it when Purdue goes to a bowl game this year!
Moving on... it was a shower for us and also Jess and Mike. She is due a couple weeks before me.
It was fun to see her open cute girlie stuff. There's been such a boy baby boom that I haven't gotten to see a whole lot of stuff for girls so that was exciting.
The shower was thrown by Andrew's parents group of friends which they call the Card Club. I had to post this picture of Andrew with the men from the Card Club. They look completely enthused to be in my picture! Haha!
What a blessing this weekend was. We were showered with gifts. Thank you again everyone! Plus we have a painted nursery thanks to the Keiper Paint Crew. We are so lucky!!!
I know you are wondering where the finished nursery pictures are. I apologize but I won't be posting the completed pictures of the nursery until we get our furniture AND carpeting. That might be a week or two. I'm sorry! It'll be worth the wait, I promise! :)
I gagged... scratch that, dry-heaved, at several parts.
