Hello Charlotte! An Update

Due to some water damage in the house and basically just life getting in the way, I've let the blog fall down the priority list.  So here's a quick update with some fun pictures of little Miss Charlotte.
What has Charlotte been up to?
She's been sleeping.
This is definitely a second child thing.  First borns don't normally fall asleep in random places like this.  Tommy didn't do this very often anyway.

She also fell asleep on Uncle Adam's lap.  Knocked Adam right out too.  :)

Her fave sleeping companion is a giant Minnie Mouse.

 Too cute.

Here's a pic Andrew took that I like.  This is a sweatshirt I turned into her Halloween costume.  She got a couple good wears out of it before I started attaching things to it.  (Stayed tuned for pictures of that.)
Look at our little doll baby in her Purdue gear.  Well... a Purdue onesie (Tommy's) and a Purdue headband.

Charlotte doesn't like to be held down.  She gets upset that we have put up the gates to keep her from climbing the stairs.

She pulled all the clothes out of Tommy's bottom drawer, climbed into it, got stuck and then cried.  It was hilarious.

 She's a whirlwind of ruffles!!!

She also enjoys wearing boys clothes if you haven't noticed.  Tommy's clothes have definitely come in handy! ;-)

She's Little Pink Riding Hood ready to Trick or Treat!

Look at that little grin.  I just love it.

Sweet Babe

I laid her down to clean up dinner and I came back to find this.  She's such a sweetie.

Rambo Tommy

This is what Tommy looks like when he gets up from a nap… Rambo.  He loves to take his socks off and put them on his hands.  He loves to take his arms out of his sleeves.  He also loves to turn his shirt into a bandolier.  He's cool like that.
The tattoo on his arm adds a certain je ne sais quoi, oui?

Boatloads of Action

It's nearly impossible to get a picture of Tommy these days due to the fact that he's constantly in motion.
Except for when he's asleep.  He's still in awkward positions but it's much easier to take pictures.

He loves to try new things, like putting on Mom's boots.  They fit well!

Even when he pouts in a corner by himself, he's still busy doing something.

And now it's time for a bag over his head! Busy day is complete!

Nighttime Friends

This is how Tommy goes to bed every night.  He likes to be surrounded by lots of friends.
The app I was using wouldn't let me write all the names Tommy gave to his buddies so I will have to finish in the text here.  Let's go clockwise. So you can see Fluffy Doghouse, the dog beside him.  There's Otis the dog. Armadillo the Smurf is in the corner.  Beside Rex the Dinosaur (Tommy didn't name him, Toy Story did) is Meow Meow Meow the cat.  In the bottom right corner is Blue Bear and Ernie, then his old pal Scout.  The last two are a giraffe named Zebra and an elephant with no name.

Some names are fun and creative (or maybe just random) and some names are pretty appropriate.  I'll have to update you when he names the elephant.

It will probably be Lizard or something.

My Shy Guy

Tommy has suddenly decided that he doesn't like me taking pictures of him anymore. Bummer.
So I can either way until he's asleep...

Or very far away...  (This is Tommy's version of mowing during the winter. Anything he can push around is considered mowing to him)

As soon as I get close, he puts his hand out and tries to push the camera away.  Oh Tommy.  You can't stop your mother from taking pictures of you.

I guess I'll have to be very, very sneaky from now on, Thomasaurus.

You would think he would be exhausted...

This is how toddlers sleep.
I mean literally.  He will get up, change pajamas, change blankets and sheets, and then lay down in a different position.  Crazy, right?

Not Suitable for Work or Children

If you are offended by cusswords, you will want to stop reading IMMEDIATELY!!

Okay for those of you that are not squares, I hope this makes your day.

I had heard of this book.  I didn't realize that it was a children's book though. I thought it was going to be some sort of instruction manual on getting kids to go to sleep.  You know, the kind that disguise themselves as something REALLY funny on the cover and then it's just the same old boring crap on the inside.  A lot of pregnancy books claim to be so hilarious like this but are really teary eyed recounts of their childbirthing experiences.

So when I read the title of "Go the **** to Sleep" I thought it was too good to be true.  It's not.  Check it out.  They couldn't have picked a better person to read for this.  Seriously, genius.  (Cusswords aplenty so BEWARE! Not for work environments! You can't say I didn't warn you.)

The audio version is free for now on Amazon.com if you're interested.  Just don't buy it to play for your kids.  These are not words that kids should be repeating.
