When Tommy was sleeping on the way home from Crawfordsville, we decided to take a detour and go by our old house on Fletcher. Our first house. It always crazy to see it again and think of all the memories that were created there.
Here is a really old picture of our house when it was first built. Before they planted the tree and before my parents helped us landscape it. Holy crap.
Here is the house today...
Look at how big that tree is!
So we heard the neighborhood went downhill after we left and the rumor was proven to be true. Our house isn't in that great of shape either but there are houses that are much worse. It's bittersweet to see it. It reminds me of how far we have come on our journey together and how much we have grown. We were such KIDS when we owned that house. Seriously. Now we have a kid!
We owned it from 2005 to 2008. Crazy! It seems like such a blip on our historical radar. We've lived in West Lafayette, Granger, South Bend, Rensselaer, and Lafayette since then (in that order). We've changed jobs, grown our family and owned two more houses since then. Who would have thought that the Thornburgs would grow up someday? ;-)
Good ol' Fletcher house. Thanks for all the memories and for being our first home.
